Hi, this is my first official thread that I'm starting, so I hope it gets many responds.

I was wondering what was the reason for making a video "When 2 R In Love" with no scenes, just words. Why? I gather that he wanted to leave it up to our imagination. I mean, the music is so beautiful, but I wonder what Prince would've filmed for the video if there were scenes.

What do you think?

Also, I thought the first line was "It's official tonight.", not, "Sophia, she would tonight."

Who's Sophia?

I saw this video on Yahoo!'s LAUNCH by the way, so check it out. There's a slew of Prince videos there, including the latest, "Call My Name".

I don't know who was working the teleprompter on that video, but the words are "So fierce you look tonight..."

IIRC that video came out long after Lovesexy and was made by Warner Bros without Prince's involvement.

I thought it was "Its official tonight..." That woudl make more sense with the next line and iM sure the lyric nook even says it too...but I may be wrong

Whoever was transcribing the lyrics at WB got it wrong. It's "so fair, she looked 2night". It's also not "till your river's in motion", it's "till your river's an ocean".

I love "Drums play pop beat", "Bass and synthesiser play descending rhythm".

I could never work out quite what he was saying - only that it sounded like: "[you're] so fishy tonight....!"
(Generally not the best thing to say to a girl! And it always made me think, "Ewwwww!!!")


Then the next line sounded like: "if the bread is soft, it adds to your sex..."
(And that was just kinda surreal.....)

"So fish is what you want tonight? If the bread is soft, it adds to your sex" is actually far superior to what he's actually saying.
