Prince on MuchMoreMusic.....

I'm a long time follower... waaayy back. I bought tix to the first show here in Toronto. We sat close to the stage of course, being members. I won't get into how phenomenal the show was. Let's just say, being a long time collector, I would rank this one waaayy upp! In fact, with the show was so good, my wife and I bought tix to the next show too which was equally amazing. At 32, I was also really impressed by this 46 year old's energy. Anyway, I just watched his performance at Muchmoremusic and I was so happy to see his charming side finally displayed for us all to see. He was funny, not uncomfortable, and candid. He had superb answers for every question. I don't care if they were scripted or not. He was bang on!
Nevermind the amazing performances. He didn't even pick up an instrument. I guess my only complaint (and I'm reaching) is the fact that he didn't pick up the 'blue angel' and smoke us all with a blazing solo.

Anyway, I think it was awesome. Even though she seems to have a poor memory, Manuela's influence on him has been for the better. He is out of his shell and the funny side of him, which we fans have always known about, finally shined through.

I guess I'd have to say, 'thanks Manuela for your effect on the greatest musician/performer ever'. After following this guy since I was just a kid, I think I know him a tiny bit. That says more about him than me. His life is his art. If you've paid attention to him as much as I have over the last 20 years, you can say you know him since his art is his life. Intense study/follow of his art somewhat equals a study of his life.

I am unqualified to say thins as I do not know him as a person, but I'll say it anyway: I am very proud of his development in the last few years. His incredible talent, equals his incredible spirit.

Look us up..and drop by Oakville, any time!

I almost started cry when he sang the a bit of sometimes it snow's in April on wed's night's show that is my fav song. I was in second row behind John and I was singing that song so loud that at one point while prince was singing it he glanced over and gave me a smile. As for the mmm taping it was equaly amazing.

I was at the taping and danced with Prince. It was an amazing day. It was so exciting being there that it was difficutlt to absorb it all so watching it again on tv was very cool. One thing that was clear, the sound was definitely better live than on tv but how could it not be when you are standing a foot away from the musicians!

I couldn't have said it better myself Ronny. Thanks for your insightful observation. My only regret is also that he didn't pick up an instrument.

I watched it and have to say:

When he was singing "kiss" he pointed the mic towards a group of people and they screwed up the lyrics and P was like "wtf???" on his face, it was hilarious!
