Im New! Hi people, i've been reading a lot of your posts on this board so i thought i would create my own account.
Im only 18 years old and my generation of music is utter crap (Britney, Justin, Jessica Simpson) while my folks had Prince, MJ, Rolling Stones so that's what i decided to listen to. I went to the Toronto concert on Wednesday and me and my aunt were absolutely speechless at his performance- i've never been to a Prince concert. So i'm glad there's somewhere i can post to discuss my new favorite artists' music. I only have 7 of his albums and i'm still collecting. | |

PSPSPS, now THIS is fun! Most people here are so lame-assed tired cuz they own SO MUCH Prince music; the most fun is the collecting. Just wait til the moment you discover it never ends; there are so many outtakes, so many live shows, so many satellite acts to collect that you become a freak like us. | |

Welcome, Jayaredee!
It's so cool to experience Prince through the eyes, ears and mind of someone who's just picking him up NOW as opposed to those of us who have been carrying him with us for a good 20 years. Please feel moved to post whenever you can about your experiences as you're discovering "new" Prince material. Don't feel intimidated by those who know tons of behind-the-scenes details about the creation of his music, or those who know all of the legends, or those who have been to five dozen concerts. None of those folks have a holier-than-thou attitude...in fact, I love learning more about Prince through them and I'll bet you will too! As far as the music goes, you probably can tell by now that one of the things we do here to pass the time is to debate the music...what we think is the best. Typically, almost everything that came out in the 80s has some rabid fans here, though most of us don't LOOOOVE EVERYTHING from the 80s (for instance, some of my fellow orgers are FAR more into Lovesexy than I am, and I think you MUST own Sign O The Times RIGHT NOW to go with Parade, my other favorite album). But the more Prince tunes you pick up, the more you'll be able to discover a favorite time period for yourself! Again...welcome man! Keith/Kacey | |
