So which one do you prefer:

Prince's late career highlight - the 3CD magnum opus "Emancipation"

or

Merzbow's 50CD avant-noise release "The Merzbox"?

Both admittably very long albums that demand a lot from the listener. Which one do you find more consistent in style, quality and sheer enjoyablity?

I'll guess I'll go for "Emancipation".

First I never heard of 'the Merzbox' and secondly I like title of the Prince-cd far more better!

I just wish you could pick up "The Merzbox" at 4€ like "Emancipation" is selling everywhere still to this day. Man, the whole album takes 4 gigs of hard drive space on just plain mp3s.

The only Merzbow album I own is Pulse Demon and, believe me, I listened to it Could this possibly be anyone's cup of tea?

50cd sound too much, even Merzbow, which i dig.
Im at the moment getting into new Pan Sonic 4cd, which is quite a lot too.

But somehow it feels good that there is people like Novabreaker, who can actually enjoy 50 cds of... something.

But i have to go for Emancipation, since i havent heard Merzbox. But it could well be better, since Emancipation is not a masterpiece, but a somewhat messy compilation of uneven songs, including loads of great ones.

Novabreaker, could you compile a best of Merzbox 1CD I guess that would kind of ruin the idea of the whole box...
