uptown is dead nowadays. I agree and disagree. Uptown is only a shadow of what it once was, but it still gets the best movies, has the best restaurants and is a pretty okay place 2 hang out. I just don't like how upscale it's become. Everything costs a fortune and feels sanitized. The "attitude" is gone. Okay, maybe I agree with you, but it still has the best movies. OH MY! I love this song UPTOWN. That is why I clicked on this post. It is such a dancing song and one you can sing along to while you dance in the mirror! I love dancing to it. From beginning to end it never ceases to rock! I love it. I love the: I DON'T WANNA STOP NO! and I like: Where I come from we don't let society tell us how it 'spose to be... SING IT PRINCE!!
I first head this some years back and since then I've always said this is one of my favorite Prince songs. "The poets are demanding their pay..."

I love this song too. And I actually live in Uptown.....Uptown in Chicago, that is, but hey - it's still cool to have a Prince song with your neighborhood's name in the title! "We're all members of the animal kingdom
