About half of Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic. That's about it. I like or love most of the stuff he's done! Luv & Peace, Alex Clubbin' in Mpls/A Night w. Prince

Y'all know I don't hate on NPS, but Freaks On This Side literally makes me feel sick. I really want to throw up, no exaggeration. It's interesting -- before this song I never knew music could make you feel like that.

I get angry when I hear "Raspberry Beret". I get pissed when I see the video for the song. Oh, yeah, and the "Rainbow Children" always upsets me. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"

The songs from the Musicology album because they are so lyrically challenged it's almost embarrassing. I don't think he's ever released a collection of songs with such predictable, superficial, and unengaging lyrics. It seems so sophomoric.

200 Balloons - Ick!
75% of Emancipation - Blech! 80% of Rave - Ugh! New Power Soul - I would hate it, if I could just... stay... awake... Also, The Marrying Kind makes me angry. Not that it's a bad song, but I have to skip over it every time. Maybe I'll listen to it again when the wounds heal...

2) 90 - Tick, Tick, Bang (anybody here who like the song? I don't think so) if anybody's on the east coast, maybe u heard DJ Frank Ski's house edit of Tick Tick Bang...it just loops the OOH I CAN'T HOLD IT over a phat banginging house beat..was very popular back in the day (Frank Ski was the one who made Doo-Doo Brown (a loop from the 2 live crew) and sampled MJ's chant from Wanna Be Startin Sumthin (Mamma SayMamma Saa Ma Ma Koo Sa)...that shit ruled the clubs for years you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Avalanche
Abraham Lincoln might have been a racist, but only he knew for sure. What we do know is that he signed the Emancipation Proclamation and died for it. Check this song out at:

Call My Name.
The reality of today's world is that our nation is at war and our soldiers are dying. I doubled checked to make sure that it wasn't a touch of jealousy that makes me cringe every time I hear this song. And after several listens I think I've figured out what it is that angers me about this tune. The discouraged voice that asks what's wrong with the world today in Dear Mr. Man is the same voice I hear. But in Call My Name this voice says to me that we cannot solve ALL problems by hitting the sack. At least not until ALL of our sons and daughters, husbands and fathers are home. We have to find some way to achieve justice for ALL first. "People want to stop the war, if they had a love as sweet as U, they'd forget what they were fighting for.....What's the matter which the world today....land of the free, somebody lied...they can bug my phone, etc., they'll only see me and U making love inside." Many have died so that we can have the freedom to do just this/that. Unfortunately, some are in the noble position of defending their country regardless of how their misguided our leader is. Meanwhile, other wars are being fought here on the homeland causing many to face each day alone.

I think angry is a strong word there. At times I might get tired of an album by prince so I rotate my album selection 4 awhile (since prince as so many albums it is so easy). By the time comes around to listen to the album I was tired of it becomes fresh again. I know alot of people don't like rainbow children album but do give "she loves me 4 me" a chance.

Most of his political talk bothers me. (Insert something clever here)

We should retitle this thread: "Which Prince song makes u so angry that u feel like making someone else angry by saying u hate it?"
I appreciate that we're not just blind followers of Prince...that we are critical and have our likes and dislikes. Hopefully everyone can see that it's in our human nature for some of us to dislike certain things that others really like. For instance, while "Freaks On This Side" is indeed no "Purple Rain," I have to admit that I like the song for the specific reason that I saw that performed live at a very good time in my life and hearing it reminds me of that time, that night, the people I was with. It makes me happy to hear it. When we have those memories, things mean more than maybe they should...certainly more than it means to someone with no attachments to it. I like almost every song that one of you has posted here that you hate. I'm a big fan, for instance, of "Cinnamon Girl" and have defended its merits in another thread as one of Prince's strongest chances for solid radio airplay if Columbia would be willing to get a little aggressive with it. "Papa" is not much fun to listen to--I'll be the first to say that--but it lends incredible insight into Prince the man and artist. NO PRINCE SONG MAKES ME ANGRY! There are some I like way more than others and a few I'd actually rather skip past because they don't do anything for me. But I won't post too many of those because they're sure to be YOUR favorites! Peace! Keith/Kacey

Most of Musicology gives me brain cramps. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
