Princely Production

I was just listening to a Time album and some Blackstreet and I started thinking about Prince's (huge) influence on hip-hop producers like Teddy Riley (one of the greats), the Neptunes and folks like that. That sparse, minimalistic sound is so common-place now in popular music (some of it good and some not so good). Anyhoo, it got me thinking about Prince's role as a producer in the early eighties with the Time, Appolonia, Vanity, Sheila E etc. . . I'd love to hear him producing tracks for other artists (the same with his songwriting). He did play a little bit on Common's Electric Circus album, but the track "Star 69" was produced by ?uestlove unless I'm much mistaken.

Anyway what do other people think, who would you like to see him write and produce for? I'm not suggesting he does this instead of performing, but I do think the chance to work closely with other talented artists would benefit his creativity as well as theirs.
