Emancipation & Chaos

Why were EMANCIPATION and CHAOS & DISORDER released in the same year? Were they off the same record label? Just curious, because he released 4 discs in one year, and it's the same year he left Warner Bros. I never saw any singles come off of any of those albums.

Dinner With Delores was released as a single off Chaos And Disorder.

Betcha By Golly, Puke! and The Holy River was released as singles off Emancipation, the latter as a double-single.

None of them became hits. But The Holy River is a rather nice track. biggrin

Chaos And Disorder was released by WB, and Emancipation was released by EMI.

Dinner With Delores was released as a single, and there were plans to release The Same
December too, but it never happened (after The Same December was shelved, they also
considered releasing I Like It There).

There were plans to release lots of singles off Emancipation...
Betcha By Golly, Wow
The Holy River
Somebody's Somebody
Face Down
Sleep Around
Jam Of The Year
...and possibly more,
though due to unforseen and unfortunate circumstances, it wasn't to be.

All three made the U.K. top 40. razz

Dinner With Delores no.36
Betcha By Golly Wow no.11
The Holy River no.19

They may not have been big hits, but they were hits, nonetheless. wink

Pretty sure Holy River was top 20 in the U.S. BBGW also was top 40 (if not top 20).
