There was the Glam Slam in MPLS, Miami Glam Slam & Glam Slam West (in LA, which is probably where Suge was at). There was also talk of more Glam Slams opening up in other parts of the world during the 90's, but never happened.

I saw the "Have Gun, Will Travel" book at Borders and was concidering buying it, is it any good?

Yeh it is pretty good, however the writer seems to hate on Death Row a bit unneccesarily sometimes, but for the most part its pretty well written.

Are the glam slam clubs still open? do u have the address for the LA one?

Glam Slam was shut down in the mid 90's and converted into The Quest. Damn shame.

Glam Slam North (Minneapolis) "closed" in Oct 94

Glam Slam West (LA) closed in Aug 95

Glam Slam East (Miami) closed in May 96 (although closed from Jan 96 to May 96 and only open for one week in that month)

Glam Slam Yokohama closed in (hmmmmm, can't find any notes on that one - anyone help ?_

The reason for the quotes on the minneapolis closure date is that is when Prince disassociated himself with the club after falling out with Gilbert Davison.

I used to visit the one in Miami from time to time. Frickin' cool place. Slick old theater.

I was told that it got shut down the last time, along with almost all the other clubs on Washington Ave, due to drug busts. Miami Police were doing routine busts all over the place in south beach. If ONE person in there had ANYTHING on him/her, they shut the place down. (That's what other club managers were telling me, the last time I visited)

Although the last time I was there, they still kept the glyph door handles to the front entrance. Not sure what they named it now. I still have some color hand-outs and match books from that place in my prince box.

I had always thought that Prince shut that one down because it seemed like more work and money/legal hastles to keep it up than to maintain it.
