Brandy's Afrodisiac Van Hunt's Self Titled Debut Rahsaan Patterson's After Hours and that's about it. Rahsaaan has a new one? !!! What? he always comes out with the most underrated albums.... Yeah, it dropped in April of this year, but is only available in the UK (for now).

Cee Lo Green is the Soul Machine
Incubus The Vines Chocolate Invasion Van Hunt Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

I really LOVE Musicology I think it is a great CD and would never compare it to Kanye's album or Usher's Confessions (which I enjoy both of those) I'm personally looking forward to Jill Scott's new one and Lauryn Hill's I think that with Musicology that is just the beginning of a great year for music!!!

uhm, he's obviously right if you have taken him so serious that you have gotten angry. way to commit the very behavior you are complaining about. and in case you need an emoticon to help understand where I am coming form. so there is not confusion: and to get back on topic: Joss Stone and The Darkness are the only two cd's I can think of. this message brought to you by logic.

Unfortunately, all of these are better than Musicology :
Amp Fiddler - Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly Angie Stone - Stone Love Lewis Taylor - Stoned Pt. II Rahsaan Patterson - After Hours Beastie Boys - To The 5 Boroughs New Sector Movements - Turn It Up Joseph Malik - Aquarius Songs But it hasn't been a great year for new releases. The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

Prince had 50,000 people show up at the Superdome in Atlanta,20,000 at MSG,20,000 at Staples. The man "sold" 90,000 albums. Many people who are in the 25-50 age range "forget" about "new" album releases because they are working, raising families, taking care of older parents, ect. so the "release date" mentality does not exist for them .As a result they are "behind the times". My point is that older artists with huge fan bases cannot generate sales under the current formula because that sales base is not going to watch BET,MTV,VH1 24-7 to know what is going on.MTV,BET ect. are dictating sales because they "show" certain artists.Radio and the like is dictating sales because they play certain artist's music.Prince fucked the game up by including the record as part of the concert because now his name is mentioned right up there with bullshit acts that are being force fed on you by the BETs and MTV's. Someone mentioned a shit year for music. The reason is that you don't have to have good music just a good video and that is a shame. PS. The Beastie Boys are a bullshit group that has not had a good record since 87 and are part of the HYPE generated by MTV and the like.

However your comments about the Beastie Boys are way off my friend. For one, their album from 86/87 ('Licence To Ill', I presume) is their worst album. Thay haven't been a pop/video band since then. Have you ever listened to their albums 'Pauls Boutique', 'Check Your Head', 'Ill Communication' & 'Hello Nasty' ?!?!?!? If your putting Beastie Boys in with all the rest of the MTV pop/pap then you are very misguided & quite obviously haven't listened to their albums. They are not a fly-by-night band. The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

I would put Musicology in the Top 5, probably. Not sure if it's the best of the year so far, but.... it's up there. Great record.
Leaving Musicology out of the equation, these are 5 from the 1st half of 2004 that I think have a shot at my presigious year-end Best Of 2004 list PJ HARVEY - - - Uh Huh, Her THE CURE - - - The Cure THE HONEYDOGS - - - 10,000 years NOW ITS OVERHEAD - Fall Back Open THE KILLERS - Hot Fuss COWBOY JUNKIES - One Soul Now OK, i know that's 6
