It would be so cool if WB would re-release all his singles in a CD box set...

or maybe in volumes as there's so many.

It just occured to me after buying Blondie's new singles box set which has almost all (fifteen) of their singles releases remastered with the original front and back art work, b-sides, alternate versions, instrimentals etc. just as they were released back then in 12".

Imagine if WB did this for Prince... it's a collectors dream, or at least mine, to have all the original art work, and to be able to hear all his b-sides (un-edited) and extended versions such as Mountain on CD.

Re-releasing singles in this form seems a pretty good idea to me, I believe the Rolling Stones and other artists are starting to do this as well.

Damn, if only WB put some effort into treating their greatest ever artist's back catalog. I suppose they might need Prince's pemission and that could always be a major stumbling block. But hopefully one day it will happen.

I think that's worth only when they include different versions and b-sides in every CD, like Depeche Mode for example. Every CD Single is beetween 30 and 60 minutes long.

When they'e just a replica of the 7" with just 2 songs (8-10 minutes). I think it would be better to release a double album.

I'd buy them all. Even if they were $19.99 each.

The very unofficial "12 Inch Archive" is a pretty good way to hold over until then.

That would be VERY COOL and I would definitely buy it/them on the condition that they contained:

A Side / B Side / 12" version(s)

However, the only way this will ever happen is if Prince and WB can sit down and work out a way to remaster the albums (as remastering the singles would most likely form part of the same piece of work?)

I'm sure a deal could be cut but whether it will is another question!
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
