Do any of you wish that Prince would show off his instrumental skills more? Don't get me wrong. 99% of the time Prince does an excellent job of not overplaying. He almost always serves the song, not his ego. Many musicians make the mistake of showing people how many notes they can play, Prince rarely does. But don't you wish he would show everybody how great he is on individual instruments just a little more often. I love "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton", particularly the bass part, and I can't help wishing that Prince was a bit more of a show off.

With the exceptions of News, Xpectation, plenty of unreleased jam intrumentals floating all over, and on Rainbow Children like "Sensual Everafter" I think he has showed plenty of instrumental over these last years than ever. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

If he shows off there are gonna be a bunch of whiners complaining about it around here. See the old threads for his guitar solo during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"...apparently some folks think their opinions on the matter should over-rule even Dahni Harrison's on the matter. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
