I think it's an excellent article. All the points mentioned, I agree with. I've always liked this movie better than Purple Rain.

Interesting perspective. I don't know if I agree that some of the bad acting of the movie was intentional, but it's nice to see a positive review of a movie I love for once!

excellent article, and a refreshing perspective on the movie! i have always preferred UTCM to purple rain, and would say that i agree with most of what is contained in the article. the music is absolutely beautiful, too, and it has always seemed (at least to me) to be the case that Prince and Jerome were having fun with their characters and not trying to impress anyone with marlon brando-calibre acumen. they did exactly what they set out to do, which was entertain. great movie. now, grafitti bridge was a piece of shit.
