1. Something in the Water (Does Not Compute)
2. Automatic
3. 1999
4. Lady Cab Driver
5. D.M.S.R.
6. All the Critics Love U in New York
7. Let's Pretend We're Married
8. Little Red Corvette
9. Delirious
10. Free
11. International Lover

Count me among the others who find this a hard album to rank. And I'm the first to put "Something in the Water" at #1, yeah! I also think LRC sounds much better as a 12".

I agree with Supernova that this album really flows well alone. But if I could tweak it a bit, I'd make invert side 1 of the album and make those the closing tracks of the album:

1. Let's Pretend We're Married
2. D.M.S.R
3. Automatic
4. Something in the Water Does Not Compute
5. Free
6. Lady Cab Driver
7. All the Critics Love U In New York
8. International Lover
9. Delirious
10.Little Red Corvette
11.1999

that is very interesting because back in the day when i would tape the albums I would always put the B sides first and I did that with 1999 too cool wink

That's why I picked this album to rank, because it is excellent. P's best album ever 2 me. Even though I put "Delirious" dead last, I don't dislike the cut. The little baby laugh at the end is very cool. Nice touch.

That's scarily close to my order. I never used to do this, but my brother would drill me until I had to choose. And for the record, almost all of these songs are perfection to me.

1. All The Critics Love U In New York
2. Automatic
3. Lady Cab Driver
4. Let's Pretend We're Married
5. Something In The Water
6. Free
7. DMSR
8. Little Red Corvette
9. 1999
10. Delirious
11. International Lover

Now if you threw on the dance mix of LRC, it would place much higher. I think that version fits much better with the sound of that album too.

I don't know who all were around when this album was released, but it made such a impact. u had "1999" and "Little Red Corvette" all over black and white radio, but the cuts EVERYBODY was jamming was "Lady Cab Driver", "D.M.S.R." & "Automatic". U heard these songs bumping out of everyone's cars, at parties, etc. There used to be a dance club way out in the Valley that allowed kids to get in up 2 certain hours. This place played the shit out of these songs. The dj was a huge P fan. Whenever he would play "Let's Work" or "Lady Cab Driver", u would see all these folks rushing the floor. This was the only time ever that I heard "Lady Cab Driver" play in a dance club.
