Rave Un2 the Year 2000 DVD Was this a concert that was recorded or was it a concert that was filmed movie-style? After watching a second time, I noticed that Morris Day had a freakin' stunt double for the part where he is suppose to be swing from the rope. He is on a platform with a rope in one hand and a mic in the other. He says some about Jungle Love, then they cut away to the stage crew folding up a floor mat (I have no idea what the purpose of that was), but you see no Morris, so you could tell that was a totally different scene, then they cut back to Morris. He jumps off the platform and lo' and behold, it's a white man dressed up like Morris and with a similar haircut.. The Morris stunt double falls to the floor and then in a split second, it's Morris on the floor...talk about chessy. I had to rewind it several times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Did anyone else notice the stunt double? [This message was edited Sun Jul 11 12:11:07 2004 by PurpleCharm]

Correction: He jumps off the platform after telling Jerome the floor needs to be clear for the Jungle Love performance. He(stunt double) is swinging in the air, then they cut to the stage crew folding up the floor mat, but Morris is nowhere to be found, although he was previously swinging on the rope.. That was indeed a stunt double as I was standing right next to the opening they made for him to swing on and no the concert really wasn't one concert.
First of all the Time stuff and Prince's stuff were performed on different nights and the show that made it to the DVD was a shortened and edited version of the songs that Prince played that night. It wasn't really a true concert being as Prince took a bunch of breaks and they had to start it over again at one point because of a problem with the sound.

Ok, then that explains why there are quite a few choppy parts, where stuff is edited in. This was on ppv?

wow. I never noticed any of this and I've watched this DVD too many times! I guess I zone out whenever Prince isn't on the scene. "Pedro offers you his protection."
