UTCM had a unique "atmosphere" to its cute and light story. Girl 6 was just completely stank tilted with the phone sex and the news of the girl falling down an elevator shaft.

Girl 6 was not a good film

Girl 6 was a horrid shame because it was made by a supposed great director

Under the Cherry Moon has a huge popular cult following by many folks who surprisingly aren't even Prince fans. I think this is due to the fact that it focuses on the tragic hero and the LOVE story instead of trying to be typical hollywood movie. It has life to it and its full of fun.

Graffiti Bridge is so bad, it never should have been made.

Currently there is a technical problem with YMDB....but be patient it will be OK.....eventually.....

Some films on YMDB are supported heavily by fan-sites.

UTCM was bad (I won't watch it again without the FF button ready) but: it was beautiful looking (fanger waves was bangin); it showed lots of folks what Nice, France looked like; Girls & Boys video (:Boostress melts:), and....wrecka stow! (Oh, and the Cheech and Chong French accent: Garcon! Ah-vay vuz-un cray-ohnh!. That tickled me then and still does.)

Truth be told, Purple Rain was pretty bad too...but who cared! It was fun and different and we got to see Prince smile! And the guys got the Apollonia boob shots...and we got 3 albums out of it. (The songs on Sex Shooter sung by Brenda are awesome: A Million Miles and Some Kinda Lover).

Mainly, Purple Rain's music propelled the story forward...UTCM did too but was too artsy-fartsy about it. It should be all about the music...his songs tell stories much better than movies.

Everyone has their strengths, and Prince's many gifts don't have much to do with the movies (unless it's Sign O the Times). Hmmm...we haven't seen any concert movies from anyone lately. Since the 80s are coming back and Prince already has lots of film from taping the shows...that would be the reason for Prince to do MTV etc again. Like Sign O the Times.

I think everyone should have the blessing of hearing the acoustic Little Red Corvette. Played out as it got, it is a BEAUTIFUL song.

The F Song was worth it all...on par with the Uncle F song in South Park Movie.

Some movies have bits in them that outway the rest. Recently saw Airplane the Movie (on TV no less). I STILL quote that movie for various reasons (30-some odd years later).

Oh, and worse than all was that Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman snorer. You know it's bad when you're watching it on video and your FF it, wondering, "When will this thing END?"

Girl 6: advance notice gave bad buzz and seeing it finally on regular TV many years later only to find that it really was that bad. And I tried to disassociate my fave songs that were in that film from it.
