I saw the video for "I Wish U Heaven" today I was watching VH1 Soul and this video came on! I was shocked! I didn't know there was a video for this song. It was rather simple.
Later they showed the video for "Call My Name" which was very nice Anybody seen either of these videos yet?

I don't like the lighting too much in that one. It's just another average Prince video anyway. Nothing really to see. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

The "I Wish U Heaven" video is one of my favorites. It has a real "heavenly" feel to it,huh?
It was shown alot on BET back in 1988,but I don't think I've ever seen it on MTV or anywhere else.

how was the i wish heaven one? what it look like? I didn't like it. Sheila E. was beating on the drum like a freak and I have no idea what Boni and Cat were doing. The screen kept moving like a movie reel continuosly. I didn't realized it was released as a single. I don't think it was played on my local radio back then

This is funny. I always describe I Wish U Heaven as one of my favourite video's. I think it's the most artful, together with The Greatest Romance Ever Sold.
Back in the day, I WIsh U Heaven was quite accomplished, like Sign O The Times.

Back in the day, I WIsh U Heaven was quite accomplished, like Sign O The Times. For real. I would say it's one his best, most individual videos.

Back in the day, I WIsh U Heaven was quite accomplished, like Sign O The Times. For real. I would say it's one his best, most individual videos. Lots of people kee raving about the 1999 video's, to me; they are all songs video'd on one day on the same set and get boring soon. I like the individual approach too. The SOTT video was way ahead of it's time, even though the graphics now seem silly becuz of what technology there is. I also like the lush 40's feel of Musicology (the venue, the lighting, the clothes of the dancers, the tapdancing).

Prince has a habit of releasing different songs in different countries. 'I Wish U Heaven' was released in the UK, you should seek out the 12 inch version it's fantastic. Girls and Boys was also released as a single in Europe but not the USA. And right now you have 'Call My Name' whereas we are gonna get 'Cinnamon Girl'!

I just saw the video for the first time a few weeks ago on launch.com and I am not a newbie. I have missed out on a whole lot, but I was a Prince fan back in '79. I was into him up until maybe SOTT and it wasn't until now that I have gotten back into P. So it is possible that she is rediscovering P like I am.

I'm a fan from '84...have gotten all of his released stuff, and STILL only seen
the I Wish U Heaven video for the first time 2 weeks ago. Some of us just aren't into hunting down every single piece of Prince related stuff...it's sometimes fun just to stumble upon some things. The don't get me wrong...'cause I got some SHIT! EDIT* [This message was edited Sun Jul 4 15:05:54 2004 by Revolution] Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

It's not on the top of my list. I had the album then, but I never saw the video for this song or even heard it on the radio. Therefore, I did not know it was a released single. In 1988, I really wasn't concerned with what an artist was releasing in the UK or anywhere else. I'm not that obsessed. I do realize there is more to the WORLD than the USA! Jesus, that was a hell of a statement for you to make I have absolutely no problem with buying the singles an artist or label wants me to buy in the country I am in, especially if I already have the whole album. I do believe this was released in the U.S. but not as popular as Alphabet street, which I thought was the only single officially released (in the U.S.) from this album

Uh, yeah... actually saw it on TV back in '88... the greatest year of his career, along with the greatest and most important album of his career. Not to mention the tour. I don't care what the above posts say... I Wish U Heaven is his best video to date. I would award Glam Slam a tight 2nd. Lovesexy Funkateer

I Wish U Heaven was definitely released as a single in the US. I have the US 12" single of it if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

the notorious swimming pool, prince "v" bathing suit is from the gett off remix "gangsta glam"... I wish u heaven was a single in the us, the video wuld play a bit on mtv and BET back then... along with milli vanilli "blame it on the rain" and paula abdul "strsight up", bobby brown "my perogative".... the single didn't get much radio airplay at all.
oh yeah, the i wush u heaven video is really cool in my opinion, and prince looks like a vampire in it. (pale, pale skin) [This message was edited Mon Jul 5 10:34:04 2004 by ufoclub] My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Have you ever actually heard the Lovesexy album! The Glam Slam video features Prince in a black and white polkadot suit with a blindfold dancing on the Lovesexy tour stage with Cat while the band plays around him. It's simple but very cool. I think it may be on the launch.yahoo link someone posted earlier, you should check that link out, you have to sign up but it's no big deal and there's quite a selection of videos on there although you can't save them.
