Only if he or someone remixed it. As is stands, I don't think it would do well. It's so dry. It's off the chain when he performs it live though.

that should be your epitaph. with the bad spelling intact. Pouncing the ones that are dyslexic is kinda nasty. I like it.

I agree, that is one of the best songs on the set list. The live version of this song is incredible and John Blackwell lays it down as usual with cymbal work that enhances the groove. The way Prince reworks a song in the live setting is amazing. [This message was edited Sat Jul 3 15:42:52 2004 by DorothyParkerWasCool]

Well, it is extremely funky. Blackwell's drumming is pulsating and he rides the cymbals for the entire song (similar to the way he played cymbals on Sign O the Times at the RRHOF and on the current tour). The song has more of a James Brown feel with punchy horns, a deep bassline, Renato/Chance carrying the groove with repetitive keyboard hooks and Mike Scott tops it off with great rhythm gutar work. The live version bares little resemblence to the studio recording. The only similarities are the lyrics of course and the live version's groove is built around the breakdown in the studio recording. The live version has a groove that could make a statute dance. It's definitely one of the highlights of the live show. I hope this answers your question. That's one of his worst songs, I don't understand why people here love that song so much, it's so shitty.
