I just got this email from the club... hey, that's $3.00 off the disc price I already ordered!

But... should we wait for the disc, or download it now?

So even though you could download the crappy MP3, versions of NEWS now they want you to actually PAY for crappy MP3's ?

I can bet you a billion dollars you won't be downloading the wav/shn files ..

yeeeaaahhh, great, thank you so much Prince! As a european NPGMC member, I really want to thank you for the privilege of being able to buy from you a cd that is twice cheaper and available weeks earlier to non members!


NPGMC 2004/2005 will have less than 1000 members... This guy is really a huge asshole, and I just don't understand why so-called fams deny this reality. (of course I love his music, but as a (business)man he does not deserve any respect)

Being relatively new on this site all I see is people complaining. Nothing seems to be right. The man himself, his music, the way he treats his fans. If you don't like what he is doing right now, stop being a fan (or don't call yourself one). Don't bother me, others and him with your complaints. I've already purchased (July 2nd) my 2 copies, so this announcement comes a little late for me. But I must say, even if both offers reached me at the same time, I'd go for the studio disc.

I am still resisting the love affair with attenuated music brought to me by my computer. Burned discs are slightly out of balance, the transition from one song to another, often highly overlapped on Prince releases, gets all screwed up with burned tracks - try recreating the transition from "Play in the Sunshine" to "Housequake" on your Roxio CD Creator - good luck!

I say, give me access to the studio CD with cover art and professional quality - I'll gladly pay the extra.

WMA files suck ASS...you can forget about burning to disc -- unless you like listening to stuff at your computer, stay far away.

The CD's are slow!
DHL, charging 8+ bucks and taking longer than the snailmail.

And offering downloads is a bad move for the fans that are still waiting.

I have never known a group of people that complain as much as some people on the org do. Talk about selfishness! Sheesh! I can't help but think that many of the posts here are just to get a response. It's so frustrating to come to prince.org now days. Oh well. We live in a "me, me, me" society. People think it is their birthright to get everything they want, on their terms. Sorry Prince isn't catering to your every desire!

I'd like to take this time to complain:

The link I connected to clearly said, "Order & Download". These are two separate actions. It did not say "Purchase via Download" or any other word combination that would have let me know I was not ordering the actual CD. Now $7.00 poorer, I have 4 files on my computer that I have to get some kind of 'license' to listen to, and I can't help but think: "All I wanted was my goddamn CD!"

Why is it that Prince always contracts with people who can't seem to make themselves understood using the English language? The example of the pre-ordered Crystal Ball comes to mind.

I'm sure it's a great record. I would just prefer to actually own it. If I want a burned copy of it, I'll do that myself when I get it.

If the album DOES suck, then so what!? MOST music nowadays SUCKS!! Prince is still better on accident than other wannabe's are on purpose.I can't name all of his albums since "Emancipation" because I haven't bought half of them...his music just doesn't appeal that much to me anymore.I've been down with Prince since I was 5 years old (I'm 29 now!!) but I'm not gonna make excuses for something he does (musically) if I think it's lame. It's a shame that you club members feel like you are being treated unfairly, but Prince IS trying to reach out to you in some way.

When you actually click on the link that takes you to the "Digital Downloads" page that says "Download is available in Windows Media format and is playable in most common music players." I'm thinking it's pretty clear at that point what you're getting.. But that's just me, what do I know.
