Jill Jones taking aim again

Came across this on her Instragram/Facebook feed and now she seems to have an issue with Camila Cabello having a number one single and album. This is her thread and then she posted a photo of the album cover.

.

I think the future looks to be a very sad one for future generations. Still, i will invest my coins in this robot movement. Theres money in it.

Men and women seem like they can exist but not cohabitate together. And until we have well rounded thoughtful balanced people running the world, the patriarchy will continue and sadly, i think women will still be at the bottom tiers.

As long as we live in a pandering society where even women are seeking objectification ;has anyone taken a look on the numerous instagram " models" who objectify themselves for a like1f633.pngšŸ˜³1f937_1f3fb_200d_2640.pngšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøJS; LOL. Women have a lot of reflecting to do about empowering their own " sexuality" it still is a foreign concept i feel for many.
The fact that a number one album by Camila Cabello can feature a woman with a pussy shot in this #metoo climate and not be viewed as hypocritical or more mixed signal sending is beyond me.
I think everyone needs to have a real come to jesus moment and have this very serious and uncomfortable conversation. Because at the end of the day, women are still pandering to the approval and standards of the patriarchy. Contributing to their own undoing. Empowerment or is it sexual manipulation?
What we as women are advertising; what is in fact the PRODUCT THAT YOU ARE SELLING?
Is the new freedom movement of empowerment for women ready to relinquish the pandering self exploitation and self objectification of the patriarchy and its standard?Hell, even I am guilty of this as well! when will we as women in the music business or in any business stop perpetuating the biggest fraud of feigning female sexual empowerment by positioning ones self within the hierarchy of feminine competitiveness by continuing to portray submissive sexual scenarios and stereotypical sexual fantasy and out of Mode archetypes #knowyourbrand . #mixedmessages #selfobjectification #metoo #camilacabello

.

.

Now i can respect Jill to a point but a lot of the times she is talking nonsense and this is one. First this album has no sexual content at all, but my guess she didnt hear it at all. Second she is basing her thread on the album cover which she claims is a pu***shot really? to me it is actually a dress that is to that culture. Next as I replied to Jill, why then do MEN never complain nor do I ever hear a woman complain about what Usher and Trey Songz do on stage or Chris Brown, or R Kelly or Timberlake all have posed with shirts off etc...and many of their videos are soft core porn if you really want to go there. And to be honest she came up with a MAN ARTIST that would not hesitate to putting a woman in front and letting her sing or write (like Ms Cabello) does but he would program her and have her in lingerie or this or that whatever pleased him, so Jill needs to check herself BIG TIME.

But she does know that feminism is fighting for a woman's right to do whatever the hell she wants to do? Even if it was a P***y shot, the message is clear: "Even if I show my vagina, you're never in the position to touch me without my permission."

Maybe I got the whole thing wrong tho, but to be honest, it's kinda hard to understand her point anyway.

But she isnt really saying we can do what we want and you cant touch us, she is also not calling out other behavior, I mean she was created by a man who early on though he treated women well they were sex objects lets be real, sex objects with his music over it. So I am not getting Jill here, her shot at Camilla Cabello is fucking dumb why not a trash like Cardi B or Nicki Minaj?? I mean is Jill jumping on her because she is number one right now and maybe it will give her light to her distorted opinions.

Her line of complaining is full of hipocracy and not sure why she even said it? I mean if you want to voice this opinion why am I not hearing male names that have no issue with using sex to sell. But also her jumping on Cabello, I mean to me its very insulting and talk about judging a book by its cover, I mean first time I saw Jill she was in cop outfit and garters and heels, what was she selling? I mean if her point is women can do both too, no kidding, female artists SELL light years more than male. But the issue is why this angle. I mean she even hash tagged cabello as if to start some kind of debate? I mean Cabello and her former group members in fifth harmony all came out against Trump and the whole deportation etc.... since two members of Fifth Harmony were not born here, but I never heard Jill on this.

Sorry but Jill is spot on. I'm still trying to figure out how modern pop culture got away with redefining feminism as coohie popping? Every single female being shoved down our collective throats is a pop tart with cotton candy for brains. I notice that there is a whole lot more diversity amongst the top male acts. Cabello looks and sounds like a carbon copy of a dozen others before her. Everybody now is either a Beyonce clone, Rihanna clone or a Nikki Minaj clone. Smfh.

It has little to do with what R. Kelly or Chris Brown do onstage because men are not historically the main victims of sexual exploitation. Authentic feminism consists of advocating for who we are, as we are and NOT how well we can emulate what men do. Our strength is that we are not like men, nor do we have to be, or want to be.

Feminism is supposed to be about the idea that our undervalued qualities are every bit as valuable and essential to humankind as our counterparts and should be respected as such. It is about fighting for society to recognize the value of what we bring to the table. Men already think that we are just walking, talking pussies, that is the reason that the women's movement was more about getting society to understand that we are people with actual minds, thoughts, opinions, creativity, resourcefulness, strength, etc.........

It amazes me that the trend is going back toward women's value once again being defined by their pussies. eek

Jill looks crazy on this one. There's nothing explicit about Cabello's cover photo, and the kid is not selling her body. She actually wrote a lot of the material, plays guitar and contributed greatly to the visuals of her performances and videos. More than Jill ever did. She left 5H because she didn't have any control over the material or image she was putting out. She felt the group was being over sexualized. Why Jill singled her out is puzzling to say the least. confused

Btw, even though people say it all the time, it's also not true that females outsell male artists.....that has never been true. So much for empowerment. Today's so called female empowement in the context of pop culture is an illusion.

I agree that Jill singling this lady out isn't a good example of the point she is trying to make, but her point is still valid.

I don't have a problem with the album cover but the music sucks.

Well most who say that have not heard the album. But actually I have been in a debate with Jill on FB over this because I believe she just jumped on someone who has a number one hit, first of all there is nothing explicit about this girl nothing degrading about her or has ever been since she started at age 15-16 she is beyond tame, where is Jill on Cardi B who is being compared to the Beatles, surprisingly she is silent. But again as much as I respect Jill she is so way off here it makes her look dumb. There is nothing sexual here, the cover happens to be A dress that is part of Latin culture Cuban to be exact but Jill did no homework and I actually she is the one that calls this a pu**y shot which now puts that thought in everyoneā€™s mind which not one person got from this album cover. This album is the exact opposite of what is out there today, itā€™s simple, 38minutes of pop two songs on a piano no talk and cursing or anything sexual. Jill needs to really start thinking before she talks, I mean what was Prince selling when he put her in a cop hat and garters and in heels in the 1999 video, what great message was prince going for with any of those early ladies besides having them look how he wanted them and keeping quiet, Jill you look dumb on this one.

I have already challenged Jill on this on FB citing she has no clue on Cabello she is quick to judge this cover which is about her heritage where Jill is calling it pornographic, she should Champion the fact that a teen at the time stuck up for her rights as the youngest to not go a certain route, this is a 38 minute simple safe diverse little pop record that is actually light years better than any female out there now, but Jill just shot her mouth off again.

I didnā€™t mention Prince in my post because I felt that would be a cheap shot but I did point out male artists and also male artist from back in the day. She answered and mainly said that women are the consumers by in large of this material and have the power to change it by what they buy is what I got from her response which is valid and I agree but that shit has been going on for eons, I mean why did Beyonce sell and not Angie Stone or Jill scott, but my debate with her is Cabello is not sexual at all not degrading and as tame as they come, why the posting her name and hastagging her like she stripped on tv, so Jill to me still is way off here.

Jill has always been outspoken to the point that she turns people off with the way she rants. Like you, I feel that this was uncalled for on Cabello. Kinda have to take a double take with Jill's past history and knowing Jill was Prince's mistress when he was engaged to Susannah & her history with his other girlfriends, and Jill was always more then willing to be the one who waited in the shadows for Prince's beck and call. Seems like Jill has really turned very bitter. Sad in a way. She's at the age where she should be enjoying her life, and not ranting all the time.

Yeah I am not really sure where Jill is going with this. I kinda of get her saying that "women are by in large the consumers" so they can change the overall by not supporting, but then again this goes all the way back to Sheena Easton in the 80's getting ripped by other females for being "sexy" and her reply is "why do i have to apologize for it, if i feel it I will act it". Now Jill using this as her example is really interesting because its possibly the tamest mainstream female so I am lost with her point.

Oh that album cover? I saw this over the weekend and thought it was a beautiful photo-cover.
I never saw anything 'sexualized' about it

Maybe these are better sitting positions for women

But what she is saying (outside of this female entertainer) is a good train of thought.

highfive Jill is talking about a loss of dignity inside yourself. Your own defining of personhood. You have to know you are in danger of losing something to fight for it. As Jill said, lots of men rush to objectify themselves for attention now. But there is always a price.

Okay, I don't get Jill's point tho. Because I learned that feminism fights for women so that they can do whatever they want without being judged. That includes making albom covers like that. If a woman choses the wear a short dress, she has the right to do so, if a woman choses to wear longer clothes and not to show her boobs, she has the right to do so without being judged. If a woman choses to pose for the playboy, let her do it and don't call he a slut.

Every woman has the right to expose herself the way she wants to. That's what feminism is fighting for, not just for one ideal. Just because a woman's posing in a short dress, doesn't make her an object or a simpleton. MEN look at them as objects, women never intended these views.

It's the same when someone says: "Well if you don't wanna get cat called, you shouldn't wear clothes like these." MEN holla at women because they get turned on by their clothes, but it was NEVER the women's intention, they wear clothes because THEY feel good about it, they don't wear it for every man down the street.

But that's just my 2 cents.

Yeah...that's not what feminism is about. Whether you are a man or a woman, you will never, ever not be judged.

I know your other comments, and you are one of those who blame women if they get molsted by men if they wear "the wrong" clothes. YOU are not the one to tell any other woman what she has to wear to not get judged.

And you just degraded me for being a man, and that I don't get the point of feminism, while I am the one of the tow of us, who doesn't judge a woman by her clothes.
