Sorry I mean PR era music ie Apollonia 6 album and Brenda Bennet talked about her with Noon Rendezvous . "From then on I started working (for Prince), singing backup and being called to sing back up on this or that song. I was singing on a couple of tracks for the Apollonia 6 record when they were filming Purple Rain." . I cannot copy and past script from this computer, type in the search in the upper left hand corner Susannah Melvoin interview Dyes Got the Answer... . There is an interview with JJ also where she talkes about how things started going bad between her and Prince after she was done promoting her album onward. Her battle with Prince releasing the 2nd album, her uncle Earl Jones passing etc

Yes, Tidal claims they have a contract ( Equity Term Agreement ) via a POA. You realize that if Tidal had nothing the music on their website would be off the site due to copyright infringement but you notice it is still up on that site.
In fact WB has put the videos on Tidal so obviously WB has no issue with Tidal. Tidal has something it is just a dispute on what aspects of Prince's music was included. The only person that had an issue with Tidal was L&K because any deal with Tidal would have interfered with their commission grabbing for the UMG deal.
Sheila can get her stuff she just has to file a claim which she mentioned.
I also never said he had a will I said he other legal instruments and structures. We also will never know if some funds were placed in a trust.
The deal with Universal for licesning was canceled and Prince had no contracts with UMG prior to his death. [Edited 8/23/17 10:51am]

I lost interest in the follow up on that other thread about Jay Z/Tidal

They produced an equity term agreement and they say that someone ( we do not know who ) had Power of Attorney to sign for Prince. They also claim they sent 3 million in payment. I do not think this case would be moving to trial if Tidal had nothing and I definitely do not think that music would still be up on that site. The estate had no trouble getting a court to remove "Deliverence" immediatley.
Tidal is working with WB. The PR remaster is up and so are the videos. I think there is a contrautual reason for this.

Sounds good. At least there are 2 avenues of getting music to the public via different outlets.

People posting that she should be private about it and contact people privately says exactly that. God is my Sugar Daddy.

No it isn't. people are saying the rants to hanger ons and fans picking teams are not doing anything for her. Some people just like to see that stuff because it fuels their psychopathic feuds with the P associates they don't like. None of this helps to get her voice to the right people.
people are messy and try to plant seeds where they may to get folk riled up. A lot of the same people going 'team JJ' are some of the same ones calling her crazy because of it. .

Misslink88 said: I'm a little confused. Some people can go on tours, sell merch and tell their stories on media junkets and talk all they want but if someone else, who was also part of these stories says anything contrary, they are jealous, bitter, mentally deranged, or otherwise challenged because they didn't share their stories first? Is that how this works? This

I thought Bremer said in court documents Tidal had not produced the Equity Term Agreement even after they asked for it several times?

Jill is ABSOLUTELY correct and i'm SO GLAD she's speaking up. It kills me how revisionist types fail to mention Prince's (successful)musical associations with Andre Cymone, Dez Dickerson, Jesse Johnson, Morris Day, Sheila E., Levi Seacer, Sonny T./Michael B, Morris Hayes, Kirk Johnson, Tony M., Foley, John Blackwell, Josh Welton and anybody else who's collaborated with Prince who happens to not be white. No disrespect to the white artists and musicians and engineers he worked with, but they can't take all the credit for his growth and artistry. And, real talk, the entities doing the interviews shuld be seeking out all the great folks i mentioned doing interviews where they delve into their collaborative relationships with Prince. Jill NEEDS to write a book because she saw alot and knows alot. I also love the fact that she gave Sheila props too. Many under-estimate Sheila's presence during the Revolution days; she and Juan and some of her band were featured with the Revolution in live performance during the Purple Rain tour(the first hinting at a Counter Revolution), acoustic drums and percussion work and production with Apollonia 6, ATWIAD, Parade. So it wasn't a surprise that she assumed the drum and musical director role during SOTT. Prince DEFINITELY was influenced by and collaborated with more great artists and musicians than Wendy, Lisa, Eric Leeds and Susan Rogers.

If you can see that "fans are picking teams" and "None of this helps to get her voice to the right people" then you can see that she has a legitimate gripe because you even suggest "reaching out via the proper channels...who can make a difference". She has taken a stance on a channel available to her. That is her choice. God is my Sugar Daddy.

I never said the gripe about the album credit was not legitimate. And everything else I said still stands. If you encourage it, well that is the side of the fence you are on.

You don't care about JJ. Did you follow any of the stuff she said post 2016
Chris Brown...
But out of respect to JJ right now, I won't say anything about the use of race.

No one said anything about being Afraid. But if you go someplace for a specific cause or event, you don't want to be distracted with any kind of arguements or such.
Seems like since the Revolution were not on site everyday of the celebration She should have been able to attend at least three of the other days if they Needed space. I don't think George Clinton would have minded JJ presence.

Oh stop no one is failing to mention these other people Where have U been? So many people are 'tired' of Sheila E right now for all of the stuff she is saying since Prince died. It isn't any 'revisionist types' unless U mean mostly female fans teaming with their fav female associates... If you even look at past discussions about 'favorite proteges' You would think by the responses that protege means 'female associate artists' the Time St Paul Eric Mazarati Madhouse etc are not the usual responses...

Hey I'd the first to get it going, if we/I had a contact @ WB to talk them about future PR reissues and making a full thurough crediting is used. Not for controversy sake but because I've always liked to know who did what on what.
I totally agree that the argument should have been with Prince. He was the wizard!! But respectfully, if I am Dorothy and the wizard is gone I'm not gonna let tin man And the lion get my share of the yellow brick road.

I'm all in support of Jill and her credits. I mean, your putting your 'name' out there in a certain way the PR deluxe credits is just 1 recent thing. I know there are people who enjoy watching Jill 'go off' and I don't think it is cool. and I would respond, then he would 'nudge me' and I would go off on the topic I never felt good about it afterwards. I felt like I was expoited or something.
I was stunned at the reply.
That is what I see people doing with certain associate females.
I said earlier, and maybe I'll even reach out to Jill, but if there is something a respectful way to present this and someone official, I would even draft something that just maybe can call attention and respect to this part of the music and artistry.
And I hope her album is reissued and gets a 'Deluxe' treatment as well
I'm glad now she censors that stuff mostly and doesn't feed into it. But when she blows it goes... I don't like when her daughter get's involved.

Because the ban had nothing to do with them. Apollonia Brenda especially were at all the Revolution shows in Sept 2016 on stage. Well Brenda missed the first night. Apollonia was a guest @ Bobby Z's my purple heart show in 2014 These people were banned for something Apollonia did in the museum allegedly against rules.

Ahhh yes, thx. I was thinking of the Rev's request for space, but yes your correct the initial ban was for another reason. Although it is still un fair to ban JJ if she wasn't there when the initial incident went down and if the Rev said Anything that made the ban from PP stick, that is also not ok. My feeling.

But Prince is not around and he is not one who was involved with leaving her out of the liner notes. Since Susan R, and the Reveloution took over and they know about her contributions.
Jill is beefing with the right people.

Amber and Cat need to knock it off. It does not matter who directed the movie it matters who owns the rights to the film. Why would she want to the movie to not been shown. Now that Showtime has it and it is on their pay per view new generations will get to see it.
I hope the estate thinks about licensing out other footage they have to cable channel or streaming channels. Give everyone a chance to see the footage and is a nice revenue stream for the estate. [Edited 8/24/17 4:24am]

I agree. I think that is why she is responding the way she is I would see GB played on tv and sold in stores but not SOTT. I would prefer the other way around.
