She really knows how to disappoint, doesn't she?

I went in not liking it and came out really liking it!

Very nice song and video! music

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

This was a hard video for me to watch. All of the tangible items in the video. The 3rd eye sunglasses on the pavement...was gut wrenching for a moment. Even her voice at the end "I don't think so" sounded like Prince. I had to replay that part.

I agree. It grew on me when I played it back and watched the video instead of just listening to it. I don't bash her for it...I'm glad she carried out his wishes. And I'm glad, as hard as it was, to see Prince's belongings, houses, etc. I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it, I think it was a good gift for her brother, Prince. It's rather sad fans here feel it's ok to criticise her, got to question the point of that. His sister did well!

I'm rather conflicted about this video, and about Tyka. I'm not exactly sure why though.

That wasn't bad. These kind of songs come off a little cheesy to me, though.

Hmmmmm.... Hmmmmm....

.

Well...

.

I actually, kinda, sorta, like it.

.

I like the music and the production.

.

I like some of the clips in the video - I hope they are NOT his real glasses put on the bloomin' road!!

.

BUT...

.

Surely during the recording process someone could have told her that is it traditional to actually have lyrics in a chorus - that is the main point that disappoints me.

.

confuse

Sad to see all of them using the studio like that... Guess they never stepped foot in it while Prince was alive...

I didn't expect a grandiose announcement from Tyka like the roll out of a new Prince studio album, live album, or Blu-Ray/Netflix of the Paisley Park Gala from January 21, 2016. I'm not going to criticize Tyka's music video because it is heartfelt but songs like this are cringeworthy to listen to only because the sentiment although is sweet, sounds too sacchrine and contrived like "Girl Meets Boy" by Sheila. Just like I didn't buy Mayte's book "out of love", or a ticket to see The Revolution posthumously do their reunion tour without Prince, NPG go on the road, I'm not buying anything that looks like crass exploitation of Prince after his death.

//He took the time to have a house built for his sister that she owns outright but she was never allowed in PP? Does that make any sense at all? She was at the last Paisley party and traveled with him maybe you forgot she is his sister and you are not a part of his family. I think she is super nice because if butt faces were running around the Internet popping off at the mouth I would not let it go. Anyway I liked it and some of you may want to check out the lyrics before you past judgement. You are not in her shoes.

She is blood and the song and video were heartfelt. Appropriate for a FAMILY member to honor her loved one in a way that they see fit less we forget she is still feeling the loss. Happy Birthday Prince.

Some of y'all are some haters. It was heartfelt and much better than I'd have expected from her. Prince would appreciate it and approve IMO.

Oh, please. She teased a "surprise" which, being scheduled for Prince's birthday, made everyone assume it was something about Prince, rather than her. That's messed up.

"Better than I 'd have expected from her." Wow - there's a ringing endorsement.

And released for sale on all good digital retail outlets on her dead brothers birthday. But not without first teasing his still grieving fan base that something big was coming in the days leading up to it. Fucking hell this is crass.

RIP sad

I hadn't been paying attention for a few days so I saw it without any expectations. She probably would have been better off dropping it that way so that she didn't set expectations in a different way (such that it was going to be a new Prince song).

Yes, I'm not giving it a ringing endorsement. There's a reason that Prince recorded over a thousand songs and she didn't. But it's not a bad song IMO. Hell, Prince has recorded a lot of songs with proteges who did much worse.
