That's what I'm wondering but if they were to do a tour stop here in my area, Dez lives in this area as well, it would be an extra treat to see him sit in for a bit as a special guest
Everytime the band got together Dez Dickerson was a part of it
In 2012 @ First Avenue
in 2013 @ First Avenue
in 2016 @ First Avenue
And if you look at the rehearsal clip BrownMark posted near the end you will see the ax man with the familiar bandana
Awesome. Thanks. |

i wish them nothing but the best i have always been a big supporter of wendy and lisa before and after they left prince. yet seeing them without prince plaaying his music does nothing for me but wish he was here more.the arrangments arent the same or as funky when they were with prince. i wish them the best though becuase they are all great musicians |

Yes, they are performing at Paisley on the 21th. But there are dates before and after the anniversary celebration scheduled for these folks. Did they hire Bilial as well? I guess the "Stillagroup" label irks me the most. For one thing, this configuration of folks was never a group as far as I know (Andre, Dez, Lisa, Dr. Fink, Bobby Z, and Wendy all at the same time?--when did that happen other than after Prince died.) But, we get it. You are still a band without Prince. I guess the Rolling Stones would be a band without Mick Jagger and the Beatles would still be a band without John Lennon. In fact, I don't think either group of remaining members of these bands would think Lennon and Jagger were replaceable or unneeded in order to proceed..and Lennon and McCartney were nearly equal in their contributions. To me what they are doing is the equivalent of George Harrison (RIP) putting together a band with Ringo Starr and some studio musicians who had helped fill out the sounds on Sergeant Peppers and then calling themselves "StilltheBeatles". Yes, important contributors to the BEatles but missing the two most important members of the group.

April--interesting month to choose. A bit opportunistic to choose the anniversary of his death to start the tour.

the pre shows are 'open rehearsal' the 21st is going to be an emotionally huge event for all of us
#stillagroup is just something BrownMark is hashtagging for fun
check out my reply #24
I would rather, they perform music they did with Prince etc than hearing people who did not/were not his proteges/his bands doing the music. #KeepPurpleMusic going...

Tony M is coming back though

I didn't think the "Still A Group" nickname that they have chosen for themselves on social media was anything deeper than a reference to Bobby Z's line in the Purple Rain movie.

I agree with Sexton. I don't see what the big deal is. There are many of us that would love to see The Revolution in concert. Yes, Prince is no longer here so the Revolution (and/or the NPG) are the closest we can get to a "Prince concert." I've seen Prince in concert several times but never with the Revolution so I would really love to finally see them. And I don't see what the big deal is... Paul McCartney still plays Beatles' songs long after John Lennon and George Harrison have passed away. Lots of bands play without some of their main members as they get older and life happens. I am personally grateful that they have reunited and are touring.
