I just emailed BB Kings in NYC as I am hoping to bring my 10 year old over with me from the UK, he has always wanted to see NY (loves Spiderman and likes the US - Florida anyways where we have had holidays before), obviously being a music venue serving drinks, I know they can be strict on laws in US, the FAQ just said no age restrictions as long as the event does not have restrictions, which it did not.

My concern is VIP was not available when I pre-saled, so I am hoping I can reserve a table or get in early enough to sit at a table, my son is tall for his age, but standing in a large group of adults would not really be an option.

I've had a look on trip advisor and lots of people are talking about eating before shows etc, has anyone on here been to BB Kings before who can advise? I'm not sure if they will be serving food etc as it's a gig?

HE MAY NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE VENUE, THEY SERVE ALCOHOL.

Thanks for the reply, that was my concern, I've been to the US quite a few times and the State Laws do vary abit on minors being in places where Alcohol is server.

I've been on the BB King website and in their FAQ it states:

Q. Age Limit?
A. B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill is open to all ages. Some late night shows are 21+, please check show page for details.

http://www.bbkingblues.com/faq.shtml

When I bought the tickets in the pre-sale, there was no mention of age limitations and as the shows starts at 20:00, I am guessing it is not classed as a late show, so that's why I was asking if anyone had experience of going to this club before, I obviously don't want to buy airline tickets from the UK/hotels if we're going to be stopped from entering on the night!!!!i as it is a restaurant grill also, I am expecting accompanied kids are allowed in usually?

I have emailed BB Kings and posted on their FaceBook page, but no response yet, so just want some clarification before I book everything!!!

I went to Minneapolis in 1991 and remember you weren't allowed to enter clubs under 21 due to the drinking age laws.

i am going to be incredibly upset on the anniversary of his passing on, and, FOR ME, this will be the perfect memorial; the perfect opportunity to grieve with the band i grew up with.

i really wish jill was included. like, really. but i don't want to bring it up again because i know i put a bee in her pretty bonnet last time. STILL, i wish.

Cool, thanks for the info, is there additional seating tables to the VIP area? VIP was all sold out so I had to buy GA?

It depends on the show. I saw Morris Day and The Time there once and there were tables filling the GA area as well. Jerome was walking between them asking people how was their steak, haha. But most other times, the GA part of the venue is clear of any seating.

April--interesting month to choose. A bit opportunistic to choose the anniversary of his death to start the tour.

Not knocking anyone who will go to these concerts, but personally I will not attend anyone's concerts unless they were touring before he past. Not The Revolution, not NPG, not anyone's. They could be in my back yard, I won't go. I don't know, maybe it's part of my grieving process and I'm at that angry phase, but I can't help but feel resentful... Maybe my feelings will change a year from now, but at the moment, I just can't bring myself to feel excited about all these tours.
[Edited 2/6/17 4:51am]

I have to greet with you. At first, I thought that I would go. But, let's be truthful here. For hardcore Prince lovers who have been ride or die since the beginning, we ALL know that if Prince were here, the Revolution wouldn't be ALLOWED to perform. Yes, they are supposedly doing a tribute to Prince. But, how are you going to tour without the creator of the group and the writer of all the songs? I am sorry, I just am not feeling this now...still way too soonπŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

The Revolution performed without Prince when he was alive.

I attended one of the First Avenue shows and of the 50+ concerts I saw last year, it was the one I enjoyed the most. So to answer your question, "How are you going to tour without the creator of the group and the writer of all the songs?" They're going to do it just fine.
