All it does is make me question whether anything he's saying can be believed. And please stop with this martyrdom routine. If he's really the only one looking out for Prince's best interests why isn't he trying to stop everything that's happening? Why does he say he's going to wait for Graceland to fail to get involved? Again all that tells me is he isn't really on the inside like he wants us to believe he is. Spilling tea, throwing shade and sniping from the sidelines on a podcast isn't really constructive. Add to that the whiny I've got the weight of the world on my shoulders voice and his podcast is pretty much unlistenable for me. /-/ Then skip past his comments and listen to the interviews with the engineers. Very interesting stuff about Prince's work habits and once again none are describing the behavior that screams drug problem. The interviews have put a different perspective on a lot of things. Wow you really are obsessed with this drug thing. I don't know what that has to do with this thread. Paisley Park is in your heart

He died from a drug overdose so I am not obsessed about what is factual. I think you and a few others are avoiding Dr.Funk's podcast and missing some key info from people who worked for him. Some things don't add up and some of the Dr's interviews are shedding some light. I get annoyed when people attack my theories without actually listening to people who worked with him. I think a lot of people are missing hugh chucks of information that show that there was more going on with him then drugs.

You're right but I wouldn't advise anyone to skip past Dr. Funk's part no matter how annoying he is because it's what he doesn't say that says a lot. Like he was sort of blaming the 2 people that were close to Prince, that were there that weekend once when he was talking about the last party at PP. He said normally the assistant would invite him & sort the flights but this last time Prince did it & 2 people were surprised to see Dr. F because Prince hadn't told them he was coming & it got a little heated. As per usual he stopped before he really said anything. It's annoying as fuck because I really wish he'd just call people out instead of being more concerned with getting inside info.

I fully agree, Rogifan. Prince's drug death has nothing to do with this thread. There are a bunch of other threads (http://prince.org/msg/7/433457 ) where people can talk about that issue (http://prince.org/msg/7/433826) to their heart's content (http://prince.org/msg/7/433259) . We don't need to make every thread about that. - I listen to Dr Funk's complete podcasts. I generally like his interviews, because many of them help me understand Prince's working style and relationships. I don't view them through the lens of "evidence" relating to Prince's drug use, because there's a lot more to Prince's life than that. - I thought Scott Baldwin's story about getting the 3 gun mics at a moments notice was fun -- and a good illustration of what we've heard of Prince (if he wanted something, he didn't see why it couldn't happen that day).

That's my problem. I don't need his gossip. But if he is going to tell stories then tell the whole story names and all or say nothing at all. Why is he calling out Damaris Lewis? What has she ever done to anyone? Paisley Park is in your heart

LuxLove said: He said how when he tweets shady things calling out Sheila certain people will DM him & basically agree with him but they don't in public - then he added "but they'll talk to TMZ though" and this was right after Damaris was talking to TMZ about paisley being open too soon. So it's basically just an ego thing. Damaris didn't go to TMZ. A reporter caught her at an airport as she was walking to her car. I know some people feel he says things that need to be said but I'm sorry he just rubs me the wrong way. Again, don't throw stuff out there if you can't name names or give details. Then all it is is gossip and speculation. Does he really think that's the proper way to respect Prince's legacy? Paisley Park is in your heart

[Edited 10/17/16 10:26am] I don't see them as evidence of his drug use either because no one that is strung out on drugs is working and interacting with people like he was. Can't see how some of you are not putting this together.

What I'm saying, Laura, is that I don't view these interviews through the lens of evidence FOR or AGAINST Prince's drug use. I'm not obsessed whether or not he used drugs recreationally or otherwise at various points in his life, it doesn't affect me, one way or the other, the way it does you (based on your posting about it on innumerable threads) and there many other interesting things about his career that I enjoy learning about. - And if you want to try to turn this thread into yet another debate about Prince and drugs, be my guest, but I'm certainly not going to participate.

Right from the start he was pissed about people talking on TV about Prince that didn't really care for him but he can't say who cos he doesn't want to upset fans! It's not hard to figure out just say it or say nothing
How does he know what people truely feel about Prince? He knows Prince and is somewhat of an insider but give me a break. Its not like Prince and the people he is hinting at (Sheila being one I assume) sat down and had a heart-to-heart with him proclaiming their real feelings.
I don't buy Sheila's act entirely, but she worked with Prince for several years and tolerated his drive, his moods, and perfectionism. I am not sure you can pretend to have that level of chemistry on stage with him. She would have to be heartless not to feel something for him.
As for the rest of the tv interviews, there hasn't been a ton of them, and most of them were either matter-of-fact or seemed pretty sincere (Van Jones' tears seemed pretty authentic).

I am not obsessed with anything and you are free to not read my post. I like these podcast because they give a good view of his work process from people who actually worked with him. It gives us evidence of a lot of things about him that the mainstream media is ignoring on purpose.

I can't listen to Funk's whiny gossip but he does get good interviews so I do tune in for that. I hope he gets Morris Hayes on again because this interview was all about the concert and not his time working with Prince. Paisley Park is in your heart
