And that will get me answers??? Like derrick31 said, tyka has the ability to squash all of this by making a statement, but she refuses, leading to speculation about how extensive his drug use really was. Tyka will not be getting a single dollar from me. Prince desrved better (i think) Firstly, I can't even begin to wonder how true fans could be giving Prince's sister shit about anything now, or ever. There is so much wrong with your comment it amazes me you really aren't able to comprehend that. You don't need or deserve the answers to your questions. It's none of your business and it's certainly not Tyka's responsibility to feed you all the ugly, intensely private and personal information your sick self seems to crave about someone you never knew, and vice versa. What purpose would it serve you other than to perjsps feed an insatiable hunger for morbid gossip? Don't make it sound like it's such a reasonably simple thing for Tyka to do. It ain't like that. Personally I hope she never comes out and says the things you want her to say. Prince deserves better than to have the people closest to him betray him. Thats what he deserves. And Tyka deserves to be left alone. It's none of your business. How many times does it need to be said? It's none of your business. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

Poor woman. She has my utmost respect for what's been thrown at her these last few months. Let's face it, Tyka will never do anything right in some people's opinion. Love and strength to you Tyka, I think you're doing a great job in the face of adversity! There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️

It was reported in the media at the time it was due to JW tradition they have to be cremated within so many hours, I'm not sure if that is true. David Bowie was cremated within hours of his death as he didn't want any fuss, it seems to be the best way to do it privately. Stop putting the blame for everything onto the family. I can't shake the feeling that Prince DID leave an estate plan/will. I'll never believe otherwise. Somebody knows something, including certain family members. I'm convinced.

Since they're having tribute parties for Prince with liquor, just five months after his passing, I'd bet money that they won't withhold unreleased music because of explicit lyrics.

I don't think these parties have anything to do with the estate, other than the involvement of his siblings. PRNFamily is a new entity that lists Omar Baker as its principal.

I can't even begin to imagine all that Tyka is dealing with; however, this is only the beginning. I wish her well, but this all comes with the territory, that of being an heiress to a rock and roll god. One piece of advice for Tyka: TAKE A PAGE OUT OF THE PRINCE PLAYBOOK: LIMIT INTERVIEWS. USE THE MEDIA SPARINGLY AND STRATEGICALLY. OTHERWISE, THEY WILL CHEW YOU UP AND SPIT YOU OUT.

I ain't gonna lie, I have my worries over so many parties being involved - Bremer, Graceland, 6 sibs, McM & Kopp. Dave Hampton saying the sibs communicate thru lawyers concerns me (IF that's accurate). BUT I will say Tyka has done nothing so far that disturbs me. I pray she has good peep around & good counsel to help. My spirit took 2 her frm many yrs ago. I also feel her boys & Alfred & Omarr are good peep too. I can't speak on any of the other parties involved. I have said b4 I wish someone would say something 2 shut down the slanderous shite I've seen about P. But I do get its not up 2 me & most likely they are honoring P's long time example regarding such things. Yes, I do mean money. But I don't mean that the money somehow replaces Prince. It would be insensitive for me to suggest any such thing. I'm just saying that along with "the massive amount of work & responsibilities that have fallen into [Tyka's] lap" is an almost incalculable fortune. As Luke 12:48 declares, and I'm paraphrasing, "To whom much is given, much is required." I've read that Tyka is a devout Christian, so I think she understands this.

As far as I know when P performed at venues other than PP there was no ban on alcohol. Your argument might hold water if the official tours were offering alcohol, but they're not. I understand that everyone just is looking out for what they think is justice for Prince and they need to realize that Tyka might not have all the answers yet herself. This is likely a hugely complicated situation and we shouldn't speculate at all on it and judge her for our perceived inactivity or suspicion. . The dude was private enough that we'd probably know even LESS if he was in charge of *his own* funeral. On top of that people on here thinking they are owed something BY PEOPLE THEY HAVE NEVER MET IN REGARD TO A PERSON THEY DID NOT KNOW PRIVATELY need to take a step back and get their delusion goggles off. . I mean damn - if I was famous and then died and some asshole who didn't know me started giving my family a harder time than they were already enduring I swear to god I'd come back from the dead to go back hand them in the face and then I'd majestically evaporate back into the ether.
Edit: And even then I bet my said 'fans' would complain that while resurrected I didn't give them an autograph. [Edited 9/30/16 10:34am] (Bolded part) [Edited 10/1/16 3:00am]

Someone made this same point earlier, rogifan. As I said then, those performances at other venues were not sponsored by Prince or his representatives. And speaking of PP, as several have suggested on other threads, it would seem that Paisley Park would have been the obvious choice for the PRNFamily tribute parties. After all, PP will be officially open for tours by that time ... and we know that having the parties at PP would have meant far more to fams. So, the point some have made, including myself, is that his family seemingly chose to have the Prince tribute parties at that venue, which has less seating capacity than PP, because they serve liquor. But that aside, the Muse Event Center looks to be very nice. I hope everyone has a wonderful time. Lastly, and to return to my original point in this regard, I reason (and pray!) that, since Prince's JW conversion didn't factor into this venue choice, it is not likely to keep the estate from releasing his never-before-heard explicit music in The Vault.

Thanks for the investigative work. I didn't know if this was really a family situation or not. That is why I took Tyka off total blast and shared my side eye with everybody. My opinon hasn't changed and I will be in the 3121 section.

With all due respect, must call b.s.
Given the utter Slew of legal, administrative, business folks, and their underlings retained by her and others to be paid in specified billable minutes for what they're claiming to be doing on Prince's dime on her behalf and on behalf of the other beneficiaries, there should be/is very minimal being asked of her, frankly.
However, such clients who have never functioned consistently in this world with any structured work ethic, nor ever even been self-sufficient in meeting their own most basic, real world, daily demands financially as others must, anything would be "overwhelming."
Those who loved him do know this is not "the very best" folks can do on any level, and hasn't been from the beginning. If anything, true grief would push you to function harder.

Tyka and the other relatives never asked for this job, and never proclaimed publicly that they are the most prepared people in the world to handle his estate. They were thrust into this because, for whatever reason, Prince didn't make any arrangements for something different to happen, and so it falls to the law to determine who's the beneficiaries. - If you have a problem with his family's involvement, then it's really Prince you should be blaming.

[Edited 10/2/16 13:19pm] This may sound harsh but at this point people need to get over the no public memorial. A public memorial for a celebrity is the exception not the rule. Most celebrities don't have them. Paisley Park is in your heart

Personally, I've never cared for big public memorials. They seem so unecessarily gauche and gaudy. Like someone has something to prove. They've already had 3 important services: 1. Private for family, 2. At his place of worship, 3. Private for freinds. There are publce tributes for fans, but hinestly dragging this out seems to prolong the healing process. I'm doing better by simply listening to live performances, music, etc and immersing myslf in a purple bubble of denial.
Frankly, I don't think P would want a bunch of carrying on over him.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Of course I'll get over it, cause I have to, but it doesn't mean it just seems wrong. Ex-wives wouldn't have needed to put on their own to mourn him. Maybe it would've helped people/fans heal faster, better. It's just seems incomplete, imo. He deserved a public memorial. He should've had one. [Edited 10/3/16 5:40am]
