Great singer and a great album, I'm loving it – but Prince really needs to do something about mastering as it's just getting worse and worse. Way too hot and distorted. [Edited 3/24/15 6:35am]

She is a really good vocalist. The straight forward liveish recording sounds great.
The music sounds like chill martini night at a live club. Unfortunately the songs themselves are pretty unmemorable. In the articles about the Paisley Park get-together, Prince laments about how to have the music stand out in this age where we are inundated with so much new music. Well, more memorable songs helps a lot in that end of things. Funny how he was concerned about sales and getting it out to market to cover the costs of production because while mildly nice, this has zero commercial appeal. He should instinctively know this. My least favorite track is Angel in The Dark mostly because unlike most of the other tracks, more straight forwardly recorded sound, this one is smothered and ruined by terrible ham fisted production flourishes. I get that Prince wants to sound more modern, but it still comes down to taste, skill, and work. The production on that track still reeks of cheesiness. Not as bad as on AOA, but badly produced just the same. Sad because that's the one track with the most single potential. The track should be sent for remixing by a good producer and it could be their single. So overall a "nice" yet unmemorable album. [Edited 3/24/15 7:03am]

This album is competent. It was pleasant to listen to. I'm not sure if I'll listen again. But nice work overall. I hope Marvin Gaye's family doesn't hear Love Trip. I always thought Trouble Man was a cool song... "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Its s very entertaining album. The live sounding band music is very nice and refreshing. Yes, there is no big classic songs on it,but it works well as a whole album to listen too from start to finish.I really like it.But now prince there's that hit and run thing you have started, and how about a freebie album from you

These are the type of songs I'd love to hear live. Prince should sponsor a tour with her opening for Liv, he wouldn't even be needed (because I wouldnt want his time being eaten into). Change it one more time..

I think the only reason for the 1 second, Back In Time track is to take you "back in time" to the beginning of the cd to listen to it again.

Does anybody else hear the similarities between Love Trip and Marvin's Trouble Man? Especially near the end? Now that all bets are off and Marvin's family is on the warpath, shit could get ugly. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Similarities are certainly there, but they haven't made millioins like the Blurred Lines song did

PUHLEAZE!!!! You did get a zip? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Maybe it's meant to represent the Big Bang. A fraction of a millisecond. Also, maybe I'm full of shit. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I guess it's a tribute to "There's A Riot Going On", another album with a title track that was just a few seconds of silence.

Boy, talk about some haters in this place. The whole album has good songs, nothing ground shaking but very good and sweet on the ears. I love the strings, the horns, the old school blues vibe. She sounds like Jill Scott/Lauren Hill. Very political stuff on that one song.
Surprise, surprise, the Dance only likes the Prince tunes. zzz, so obvious Dance. Her songs are better, live with that. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Mostly positive opinions or people (like me) saying it's well done but nothing earth shattering. What's hateful about that? The last I checked this was a discussion site. I dig the project and her. I'd never heard of her until yesterday. Now I have this and the stuff from soundcloud 2 listen 2. NICE. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

If they was aiming for that marketing trick then I dont think it would work aswell with a former talent show personality

My guess with that would be that the track will become available with the album release. Besides if Prince released "Back In Time" like that, he would be releasing the same song twice because it sounds like "Segue #1" from Rave. LOL. But from the 1 second length, it's hard to tell if he used the same silence. Also interesting, is that, if this will be a full song to be released sometime soon, the album ends on the theme of time much like "AOA".

I agree. Yes, technically it should be here. But under the circumstances of this album appearing out of nowhere, it should be under Prince: Music & More for at least a week or 2, so every fan has a chance to discover this.

I'll have to check that out out. I did notice though that "Wild Tonight"contains some of the musical elements of "Do it, Fluid" by the Blackbyrds. https://youtu.be/_iGi0g7s94A

I think instead of saying 'haters' maybe you could've said super f'n critical or something I guess. lots of orgers are sensitive to the term 'haters', but I'm with you, sounds like a nice album, everyone's entitled to their opinions though, even if it is super f'n negative. I don't think there's really a bad track on here, they all sound pretty strong, but to play devil's advocate, I do see their super critical POV that there's nothing earth shattering here, but sometimes good music is just that... good music!

I'd never heard of her either until last night... pretty cool! Love her voice! Sure beats some drummer he's been working with recently.

I liked the modern take and thought it was the most successfully contemporary track Prince has produced in a while. I wouldn't have a clue how to achieve something like this so cannot even fathom calling it badly produced. I though it was perfect Just somewhere in the middle,
