My god. No wonder Prince didn’t go on tour. If Prince produced this album this is easily the most relaxed he’s ever been in someone else’s lap. Fuck that. If Prince produced this, I think of him now as a producer. I’d gladly pay top dollar for this without knowing there was any Prince involvement (though you can hear him in the background all over the place). The first track is very recent, very topical, and on fire. A young Etta James hurting people before she sets the mike down and starts swinging for real. The second track doesn’t let down in ferocity (Prince has a spaz attack from the crowd). The third track sounds like a radio hit. The final track sounds like a Marvin Gaye party held yesterday. The horns are sick. “Cry, Cry, Cry” is fantastic. You never know with Prince. That skinny motherfucker with the high voice.

So to whom was this sent? People who applied for tickets for the recent USA shows, or is it something else? Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

I bought tickets for one of his shows via Live Nation some years ago but receive emails for concerts in my area or any Prince concert news.

My first impression, which is the same I had with Suoerconductor, is wondering why he doesn't release an album that sounds like this under his own name...

Ah fair enough, I bought tickets for Prince last summer but I have no idea whether it was Live Nation or not who did the sales. Presumably not as I don't have the email, which is disappointing given the positive reception this seems to be receiving (and on the org of all places ) Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

We are waiting for a true Prince - Josh collaboration for the next Prince Album as with the single X 's Face and kind of song like Angel in the Dark.....this is obvious that we don't need the 3rdeye Girls anymore!

Looking at the metadata seems to indicate when this was this project was finished and created.

I just followed the link from here. Good chance P's mad at me, though... I've only listened to the first song, but it is slammin'. Any word on a physical release for this album?
