NouveauDance said: If she can't handle the honest opinions of her only customers and audience, she's in the wrong business. No matter what anyone says, this is definitely true. If ur in the entertainment business where media & fandom are concerned u have to have thick skin or else they're in the wrong business. Even Oprah quoted that, she said no matter how many free shit I give away there is always the few people who weren't happy. I'm sure Prince would have schooled her in how 2 handle criticism. True you have to learn how to handle criticism but this site takes the word 'criticism' and runs amok with it. There were more threads about her CD flopping(or getting scrapped) before it was even heard fully and threads about her personal life with Prince(or lack thereof). That's speculation and gossip not criticism. This site gives everyone a platform to voice their opinion be it constructive or cruel. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Andy is a professional entertainer who knows what comes with the territory...any choice one makes in life means taking the good and the bad that come with your choices, period.
I am sure that Andy is far more mature and worries far less about what is said about her than the people HERE who think that their mission in life is to scold people whose opinions THEY can't handle on every damn thread. The problem could be easily solved if their parents or babysitters would start putting them to bed on time.
ON TOPIC, while I'm not particularly impressed with Andy's stage show and wouldn't pay to see her, I do like her vibe on the cd, which flows nicely, so I wouldn't mind buying it. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Album is growing on me. At least half the tracks are top notch IMO. It's very princey, and the hooks are often sounding a bit better than the verses, as her voice is a bit too thin sometimes to really take the attention away from a sometimes bit over the top instrumentation. However I love the instrumentation! My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

Is it me or is Nothing More Pink Cashmeres kissing cousin?
The simililarities at 1:21 and 3:20 are almost indentical. I LOVE IT! Andy's voice excels in this arrangement. But to hear Prince sing it [Edited 12/6/12 15:42pm] The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

FYI - it looks like the Superconductor USB has now disappeared from Amazon as well. The release date had been changed to December 24... but has now disappeared entirely.

meaning no insult to you, but let's take a really honest look at this website.
this is where crazy people come and post their unmedicated hearts out, bless them.
by crazy, i mean folks who are so obsessed with prince that they can't even think straight. stalkers. delusionals. folks in need of medication. lest you doubt me, let me tell you i have met some of them in person at paisley park. utterly mad, and totally convinced they are meant to be with prince. resentful because andy appears to be there instead of them.
these folks are neither reasonable nor fair. they appear to feel that andy's success threatens their own fantasy world somehow and they lash out thereby. there are people hating on andy allo because of her freaking sunglasses, for crying out loud. yes, really.
these may be honest opinions, but let's not forget they are the opinions of unbalanced minds.
as far as us being her 'only' customers, well. no. andy has been around long enough to have made an impression before prince found her.
i'm not trying to pick a fight, but i feel its really important to remember that this website is a magnet for insanity. this is where the crazy prince stalkers come, it is their playground. god bless the ORG!

Well i finally got a chance to hear Superconductor and i must say i like what i heard. It seems like Prince, Andy and the musicians really put some effort into making Superconductor sound as accessible and professional as possible. The things that stand out on the album are the musicianship(tight, focused and funky),the vibe of the songs(upbeat and playful) and the production. The production sounds less Pro-Tooly and more organic(?).
As far as Andy's singing.
I was never a big fan of her singing but she sounds pretty darn good on this album. Her voice sounds a little thin and i don't like the way she phrases(or sings) certain words but overall she sounds no worse than a lot of today's female singers. Actually i dig her singing on this album better than a few of today's singers.
Overall I'm surprised at how much i like Superconductor. At this moment these songs stand out for me; Long Gone, People Pleaser, Yellow Gold, Nothing More, If I Was King and When Stars Collide. A couple of the songs probably could have ended a little sooner and although i haven't read a lyric sheet to the album, at first listen some of the lyrics seem a little...?, maybe silly ?
Regardless, Prince, Andy and the players did good. Hopefully Superconductor won't get slept on and hopefully prince will come out with something just as good or better than Superconductor.
1/2 outta 5 stars.

If the new Prince album gets better than this or the same quality, he's got my back. I'll promote that shit hard! His last single was sweet and cool enough. It was tasty but effortless for him. He is a grown man, but it doesn't hurt with a little more energy on some song. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

I can't get over how much I'm enjoying this CD. It's definitely one of the best protege releases ever. I'm just hoping some more videos and some gigs come from it. Listening to Shelby's radio takeover and hearing 'When Stars Collide' just put it to me how good this would sound coming on the radio. Excellent music!!! The whole NPG family(and other proteges) seem to be very busy right now. It's a great time to be a fan. Lots to choose from. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I am really enjoying this album. there is not a song I don't like. It all flows very well. It would be nice if this one does something beyond us hardcores. It deserves a wide audience.

Thanks for posting this. The songs written by Prince vs. those written by Andy do not surprise me for the most part. I figured Yellow Gold, Nothing More, Story of You & ! and When Stars Collide were written by Andy because Prince has not been that vulnerable in his writing in at least 20 years. However, I am a bit surprised that Prince did not write If I Was Your King. I am also surprised that he did infact write Gone. Also it's cool to see Michael B. is a part of this project!

Yeah I agree with you, although I can't say I've spent enough time in the Andy threads to see the Prince bride wannabes rip her to shreads.

Kdavis, how did you get the .pdf file? I ordered from Amazon, but don't see where I could get access to .pdf file of booklet from the cd to see the credits. [Edited 12/11/12 16:18pm]

My CD finally arrived from Amazon. Listening to it now. My first reaction is that this is a vast improvement over 20Ten and other recent efforts to recapture the old Minneapolis sound.
For those who are posting the songwriting credits, Prince's credits for protege albums are notoriously unreliable. I'll believe it when I see it on ASCAP, and maybe not even then. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

I know I'm I'm 99% sure he had a hand in almost all of the songs. I'm also certain that he wrote If I Was King. I'm not surprised he wrote Superconductor- the lyrics say it all. I am surprised that he wrote Gone though which is obviously about the end of a relationship (e.g. Misty, Bria or maybe even a short break up with Andy) who knows. He just doesn't like to take all the credit away from his proteges.

When you put it in your drive, your computer should recognize it as if it were TWO cds - an audio disc and a data disc. The .pdf is on the data portion.

Interesting. I followed your instructions. I inserted the cd in the drive, and clicked on Adobe reader, and scrolled down to the DVD RW (D) drive, and opened the file, and the 12 pictures of Andy with the lyrics to each song came up, with each picture. Plus songwriting credits and other info. If I hadn't read your post, I would have just inserted the cd as an audio, and listened to the music without knowing that other info was on there. Thanks again. [Edited 12/12/12 20:34pm]

I was being pretty judgemental thinking 'God not another protege album' and ignoring....its not, its very good! Loving the music.
Still a bit hmmm about the voice I suppose maybe I'm just not use to it, but got rate Andy Allo I think she put a lot of her imput into this and Prince put in his vast knowlege and expertise, its excellently produced by him.
A great album its elegant and mature, well done Andy Allo, will definately be buying this.
