Hypocrisy indeed - I struggle to understand why people cannot accept that the sum of their past is what has made them what they are today; isn't it what makes us learn and grow?

I think that some terribly scary things happened to her (from what she has said in interviews) apparently she was at some point, near death, blind, kidneys were shutting down and at the same time she was attacked by demons, she said she levitated off her bed and that they attacked her every night. Who knows if these things really did happen (I, for one, believe it's a possiblity) and I suppose those types of things will drive a person insane. No, she is not completely on her rocker, imho, but she is sincerely trying, you gotta give her that.

I also have a cousin who used to be a lesbian and now she is a minister. She's off her rocker too. She has such guilt from the fact that she used to love the ladies, that she is consumed by it and constantly trying to redeem herself. She's nuts. But, I guess, whatever brings you closer to God.

OK, calling them "friends" is a stretch because by my view of it they were associates who worked together and got fucked on the same casting couch.

That is in no comparison to a REAL friend of 30 years.

And secondly, Vanity isn't crazy, she's an ex addict with a personality that allows her to become addicted to things. That never goes away, its the same reason why a person who is an alcoholic needs to stay away from alcoholic drinks all together.

So some Christians can get deep and remove all other from their former lives, but that is only because they are weak and can not be around anything that may make them spiral back into their former selves.

Its about addiction and avoiding former demons, nothing about being judgemental towards those who are not in a Christian lifestyle.

Its not at all about "accepting a past"... its about staying away from stuff (and people living in the former) that will cause you to return to that former lifestyle.

First the word is spelled Totally and second if Denise chooses to live her life this way who are you or any one else to say she's crazy for turning her life around. Facebook is the devil's workshop Hell I deleted folks and then deleted my account one year ago. If Denise says these things happened to her-I believe her. The lady almost died-give her a break. Hell most of Prince's ex's have turned to god-wonder why? But I'm happy for Denise. Vanity is my fav Prince lady, but if she wants Vanity to never resurface, then so be it. Wish her well.

Denise has always appeared erratic and unstable to me from the very beginning and I've always felt that was the reason she fried her brain with drugs in the first place. She has suffered extreme hardships and deprivation periodically throughout her entire life from what I read in some of her interviews years ago and in the absence of coping skills she's doing the best she knows how to do.

Her turning to religion is fine but I just wish she would get professional psychiatric help also because even in her faith she is unable to moderate herself and becomes extreme and fanatical.

There should not be any shame attached to getting whatever help is needed but she might be one of those people who won't accept that reality.

These are just my impressions.

True-I think most folks/men have admired Vanity/Denise for her looks and body. I just thought she was a unique lady and was instantly a fan. But what made me like her was the eccentric side of her. She obviously was hiding a bunch of pain-there's no other explanation for acting the way she did. But even with all that I still like her. Hell we all have baggage.
