She said Bible is basic instruction before you leave the earth .then she erased me for the first time because i posted a Prince song with explicit lyrics,then i apologized and she said we'll keep in touch via inbox because she can't add me instantly because 700ppl wait to be her friends.and she accepted my request and after a few days she erased me again.i could have kiss her ass and explain her that she was wrong.i said to her that she didn't change,she just changed one extreme for another.

A friend of mine told me a similiar story about Stacy Lattisaw,the R&B singer who had several big hits in the 80s.She is now born again.My friend followed her on Twitter (or Facebook) but he was a little upset by some of the "messages" she was posting...trying to convert her fans to become religious and telling them what would happen to them if they didn't get "saved".Like I said before,some of these religious people go too far.They take it to the extreme...trying to scare people and that's not cool.

Reminds me of when Donna Summer became born again in the early 80s.During this period,after her concerts,she would ask some fans to stay and listen to her talk about God.She was obviously trying to "convert" her fans.During one of these after-concert Q&A sessions,she got into a heated debate/argument with one of her fans.This fan,who was gay,claims that Donna told him "AIDS is God's punishment for that lifestyle....God made Adam and Eve,not Adam and Steve!". I'm not sure if this incident really happened or if it's just a vicious rumor/urban legend (Donna has denied making those comments),but the rumor has dogged Donna all throughout the 80s and cost her the support of many of her gay fans.It demonstrates how some people become religious and get on their moral high horse,condemning others.

She is Jesus-Crazy in the head. Knowing this I've never tried to request a facebook friendship. But also, most importantly, because I never really followed her music stuff. I have it, it's just ok. I'm only "friends" (emphasis on the quotation marks) on fb with folk who's music/preformances/personas I've actually really dug.
I never understand why some Prince fans will try to friend every single possible connection to him there is. PRINCE STILL AINT YO FRIEND.

denise mathews, i used to have her as a friend on facebook but i deleted alot of prince associates after lopez tonight i had enough of prince it was getting too much on facebook, anyway, i sent her request recently she hasn't added me yet, although she messaged me back regarding her bio i had purchased. what i want to say is, i did notice that even as vanity she was a bit eccentric. its personality, not brain disorder as such, to mediacally assign a psychriatic disease how do you assess and what label would you give her? i think we need brain scans for that.

With all due respect, No we don't always need a brain scan to determine when someone is "off", sometimes it's obvious.

Denise was a semi celebrity-never a true star,more of starlete.the only people who know her is Prince,his fanbase and Nikki Six so don't missuse the word celebrity.

Have you ever been in a club with people of various ages and "Nasty Girl" comes on? More people know who Vanity and Vanity 6 is/are than that circle you mentioned.

I have to agree with you as a promoter & DJ whenever I play Nasty Girl in the clubs and parties , EVERYBODY knows exactly who it is and it does'nt matter if it's 80's babies , 90's rave kids or the hip hop genereation of the 2000's . Everybody knows who Vanity 6 is.

Black ,white , asian , hispanic . It trips me out how no matter where and who I play Nasty Girl for at events , parties , and clubs everyone packs the dance floor and know every single lyric to the song . Sometimes I wanna ask some of the people in their early 20's if they even realize that Nasty Girl was out before they were even born . People treat that song like it is brand new .

It amazes me the reaction that song gets and the many many many re-mixes so many DJ's & producers have made on that song . But the original version always get the crowd on it's feet : You ain't a DJ if you don't have Nasty Girl in your collection : Real Talk :

I'm trying to figure out why she's even on Facebook in the first place considering Facebook is part of the "Secular World". Kind of a contradiction, isn't it?

Yeah, I didn't like it when she named her book ,"Blame it on Vanity" when she's trying to distance herself from that. Also, whenever she's on TBN ( or that annoying Robia Lamorte) they always intro their appearance with a bit about how they used to dance or date Prince, blah blah blah. If you want to distance yourself, distance yourself, don't use Prince's name and your ex "dirty self" to promote yourself now.

With that being said, I think Denise Matthews is sincere and it's not fake bs, just a little off the deep end is all.

I'm a Christian and I didn't mind it at all, particularly because I understood the "double entendre" in using "Vanity" in the title. In Scripture there are plenty of anecdotes, stories & proverbs discussing the theme of "vanity" and how it will be of no help to you in your life. I felt the title of the book was clever and timely and if applied correctly, could allow the author an opportunity to have a "teachable moment" in her story about vanity -and where it can lead you if you seek fulfillment in its' trappings.

As for her tv intros and mentioning her past with Prince, I also think there's not much wrong with that either. Mentioning her ex "dirty self" is just part of her "testimony", and allows people to have a flash insight as to where she once was in her spiritual self having been a part of that world, and how far she has come with a life now in Christ. It's not intended to be a "come up" phrase to garner more attention or praise from the secular world rather than a kind of "come out" magnifier for the transformative and redemptive power of Christ...you know, sorta like a "you won't believe what I used to do, and yet He still granted me grace" kinda thing

Facebook is part of everyone's world. It is a technological tool that allows people to connect with others, and not just for personal relationships by non-Christians. Facebook is used by churches, non-profit organizations, social and political movements, and corporations representing all creeds, nations, and interests. As a micro marketing tool it can be extraordinarily useful, and has democratized advertising and public relations to the point of helping to remove "the middle man" for independent entities who cannot afford to fund large campaigns for whatever platform or message they're trying to advance.

That being said, I don't have Facebook. For me it makes no sense for my own life. However, if it should happen that I diversify in my career some way that would benefit from using it, I would consider having a business page, or one for a charity (but that's all). Beyond that, Facebook suits many religious organizations very well. My church has Facebook, my pastor has Facebook. We have Twitter. For a while we were noticing how few people were actually paying attention to verbal announcements during the Sunday service or reading the weekly printed bulletin. The church newsletter was converted to digital form and is mailed to everyone as soon as it's published, but while it was good for shedding light on events of what happened recently, still nobody took note of announcements for upcoming events; Lo & behold, once the church got Twitter and Facebook, we were able to increase participation in volunteer activities, study courses, Sunday lunch potlucks, seminars, attendance for visiting speakers, etc. because it helped raise awareness that these activities were taking place- in an instantaneous way that requires little very attention span . Facebook doesn't belong to any one particular segment of society, and how it's utilized can definitely make an impact on whether it affects or enhances anyone's life in constructive way, or if it can be destructive and an agent for negativity. One has to be very wise with how they employ this tool (as with anything in life) to get something positive out of it.

This is a sweeping generalization. I don't have a Facebook and never have. I also know many other people who aren't on it (and no, we're not old - we're in our late 20's/early 30's). I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it (I'm not religious at all), but at the end of the day, it's not necessary to have a Facebook page. It IS a secular world invention and you're going to find a lot of "secular world" things on Facebook. If you're just going to de-friend everyone that says or does any little thing you don't agree with, what does that say about how tolerent you are as a person? And why bother even having a Facebook page? And if someone gets so offended by silly shit on Facebook, how in the hell do they cope in the REAL world?
