MF's really, OMG, shouldn't comment on matters where you are on the way outside looking in. For 20+ years none of you M#%%^%F##%^s care if I played in the Time or not, but now you are acting like it's a religion. Just be happy for me when and where ever I find happiness and that happiness doesn't hurt anyone. I believe in personal and private details in life/business matters should stay just that.

And if, you only knew a small portion of the truth, you would would feel so very a shame of your your negative "Outside comments". Always pay attention to who's not making comments as apposed to who's flapping gums on the negative level of energy!!!! So to all nay sayers, Respectfully Fuck off and worry about getting your own house in order, because that's the only house I have a responsiblity or power to direct keep the peace.

Because believe me, the truth is so ugly and vile you wouldn't be able to handle it!!!! As I've stated before, this site "JESSEJOHNSONFAN"is for people that dig what I do or find what I do some what interesting.

BTW D'Angelo is more than just a job, he's blood, a best friend, an incredibley caring human being with a huge heart full of compassion, and a FUCKING INCREDIBLE TALENT! For the record we have had disagreements for years and years, but there is a very strong mutual unspoken respect between us. Let's just say brothers helping brothers! If you can get to that!!!

"Jesse, i'mma start this off by saying i'm a big fan. Firstly of The Time of course, but also of yours as I have bought and enjoyed all of your solo projects and production work. I wasn't around for the post that set this off, but I can imagine what neighborhood it probably lived in. I'm going to try to play a bit of devil's advocate without offending you or anyone else. For you to say that no one cared for 20+ years if you played in The Time or not, isn't true. A LOT of us did. Being a part of that band is historical for a lot of us. Being from Detroit where a lot of that early MPLS love jumped off, The Time was actually kinda bigger than Prince. Y'all were my heroes. When Terry & Jimmy weren't around for ICC/PR, that TRULY bothered us. It may sound dumb, but it's true. ICC was the last Time cd I bought because to me it wasn't "really The Time".
me and my brother took the day off from work to listen to "Pandemonium" when it came out. i'm trying to paint a picture here. The Time is more than just a "band" to a lot of people. They are more than just a "band" to me. So when the Original 7ven cd dropped it was a big deal to those of us that waited for YEARS for our childhood heroes to get back together. And a lot of those same people, myself included were disappointed to find out that we weren't going to get to see a tour because you'd left the band. Now with that being said, your reasons are just that. YOUR BUSINESS and you don't have to explain them to anyone, certainly not the fans. Again, i'm a fan of your work outside of The Time and i'm also a HUGE D'Angelo fan, so I was excited to hear that's what you were going to be doing.
Here's the point I wanted to make. When you're dealing with a fan base that has spent YEARS loving a band/artist, right or wrong people feel like they have something of themselves invested. They've spent years and in most cases hard earned cash on an artist. I'm not saying the mindset is right, i'm just trying to explain it. They have personal feelings about it. So when you make public comments that can be PERCEIVED as a slight against your former project, some fans are going to have a personal reaction. I'm not saying that it's right, but i'm trying to explain why that happens. Bottom line is you are right, it's your fan page to do with what you will, and to say whatever it is you want to say. Peace and love in all future endeavors, brother."

Just curious, What the f_ck is he talkin about?

Jesse really comes across as a major dick saying this. He's a coward who couldn't tell the band who gave him a solo spot at their gigs that he was leaving. What an ego. He's a very good guitarist but he can't sing to save his life and his songs are weak with a few exceptions. Trust me, he will leave D'Angelo's band at some point this year. He thinks he's on Prince's level...he needs a major reality check.

All the negative comments posted on his FB page (and I suspect on here) about his decision to leave the O7. some of the fans seem to think they know better than he does what is going on or what he should be doing and with whom.

I don't see any problem with what people have said. A real man would tell a band that he's been in for 30 odd years that he wants out. Letting them know indirectly over the internet is cowardly. But he's known for being like that.

Based on his comment I'm guessing that some shit really went down behind the scenes. He keeps stating if we only knew the truth. I"m not justifying Jesse's departure but at the same time as an outsider looking in I believe there is a whole other side to the story we don't know about. Its so easy to assume that the other guys are all angels and Jesse is the bad one. Hmmm, wow, we'll never really know.

Why not? he's a human being like everyone else. He probably got tired of all these "supporters" making negative assumptions about him without knowing the story. is it that he's a bad person or is that we just want our tour. I do admit the fb rant is like "whoa" . Just my two cents.

Then he needs to do that and be professional about the whole thing. The shit that goes on behind the scene-fans will never know. So why rant about it? And yes alotta folks wouldn't know who the hell he was without the time and prince so he should be grateful for those fans and stop posting "fuck yous" to them.

The truth is the fans are a fickle, overly sensitive bunch who fly off the handle when an artist does or says something they don't like. Anybody remember the 'Andy Allo t-shirt event' or more recently the 'Sheila E superbowl tweet'. Jesse is just the first to tell a group of fans to go fuck themselves without disguising it with a funky beat!
