Terry Lewis is the 'manager' of the group. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I think he may be the BL, or band leader. I don't think he is also the business manager and the road manager. That is too many hats to wear, even for that big head.

I recall Morris saying in an interview that he was the one who let them know when something needed to be done and when to do things (or something to that extent) and that he was the one keeping them in line. The full scope of that wasn't too clearly defined. Wasting money? He was already invested in VP. Why not tour? At the very least, us die-hards would be out there. Instead, he did virtually nothing.
As for VP sales, most people don't even know he had a new CD, hence the need for promotion.

So he is most likely the one coming back with the "I don't know" response to the questions. It really is a shame. They had 20 years to get things in order.

I have no idea what this is all about, but you've got to love a guy who tells you to respectfully fuck off, and then signs his post "PeaceLove".
Awesome. | |

His rant sounds like Ringo Starr's when he was like "I won't sign no more autographs or anything after October 7, 2008, PEACE AND LOVE, PEACE AND LOVE." Only that Ringo didn't curse and was more in control of his emotions lol

PAPAROBBIE said: Truth? Ok here's a true story for ya...I ran into Jesse about 2 years ago at a well known gym in Chatsworth, Ca. One of my friends who worked there at the time ran out to the floor to tell me that he was signing up. I said, no way, and then she told me that he was telling everyone in the office ere that HE wrote Purple Rain! I said oh hell no...but went to to office to see if it was him anyways. Sure enough, it was. But the funny part of the story was about him writing Purple Rain. Now, is THAT part of the truth that's so ugly none of us could comprehend? Or is it just another fabrication of his own mind...

So it was Jesse playing on the tape Stevie Nicks had? You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

To all the people that are saying that he should have said THEN what he was saying NOW.. really? You really would have preferred him to say, "Dear fans. I quit the O7 because there are no plans to tour or make any money off the project we just recorded. I'm sorry you have to hear it from me. And to the fellas...I'm sorry if I wasn't supposed to tell the fans that there are no plans to tour or make any money off of the project, but it seemed like the professional thing to do and all. If not... my bad."
Jess I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

do people even care about Jesse? I could care less if its Jesse or Tori playing or someone else. As long as Jimmy, Terry and Morris are their its The Time to me. It is a pity that they wont promote the cd but I cant blame them. Jimmy and Terry make more producing so why even bother?

Nah, he should have said 'I'm leaving the band to pursue other oppurtunities' with no public announcement until the band was prepared to put that information out there.

Which would have been about half past never. Seriously though even now they don't really address their future as a group when the do (rarely) speak to the media. It's left so much up to fan interpretation/speculation. I think they pretty much were ok with him leaving if that's the way it had to be. But it should have been handled quietly as a group. That's what pissed me off the most about Jesse. The total disrepect for the efforts of everyone else. He could leave, but there is a right and wrong way to handle that. Fueding and public discord is bad business for a band in the process of locking down tour deals.
As for the lack of any tangible plans 3 months into the latest breakup, I would guess the reason for that is essentially legal shti. And also a desire to NOT have this happen to them in the future. But it's my strong impression, that these guys haven't caved in at all, they are not giving up, and one way or another new music and more concert dates are coming.

Thank you! I was thinking, "Maybe ole Jesse too riled up to spell check?"

I understand that Jesse needed to make money from the O7 project. What I do not understand is why he didn't simply tell his bandmates during the phone conference "look, folks, if nothing's organized, I need to make a living from music, and I have this offer from D'Angelo to play with him. As you haven't booked any gig for us so far, I will have to accept the offer from D'Angelo. Let me know if there are any O7 activities in the pipeline, but I can't promise you now that I will be available for it". Then leave it at that, stay silent on FB, don't announce you're leaving the band and see what will happen.

Maybe Jesse hadn't made any decision to quit during the call. The others say he didn't mention he had any intention to leave. Perhaps after sitting around awhile, Jesse got upset and did a spur of the moment thing. People often don't think clearly when upset and just say things that they really don't mean. Still, he could have called the members when he decided to leave instead of putting it out on a site without warning. Then all of that "I'll spill the beans on the others" talk, when people complained about Jesse quitting, was not necessary at all. It seemed like the opposite of what he was saying in the group documentary. Jesse even calmed Morris down, when Morris was getting angry about the name change thing. He has a point.
But I think he shouldn't even bother responding to these folks because it just gets them off that they got reaction out of him and then people will use it to try and make him look bad as well. 비
