Yeah but when it comes down to who he allows onstage with him with an actual instrument in their hand...it's a different story entirely, his standards are pretty high then.

So I think it's safe to say that if he has Andy up on stage with him wielding an ax, it's because she's a hell of a guitar player.

Andy is no "hell of a guitar player" but has ot the funky look and can sing funk and jazz.

I agree with you Blacqueknight, that many of Prince's female fans are extremely jealous whenever they see him perform with a female band member on stage. I find that some of the men here are too. Not to mention the hate threads that get started in here about his female band members, and the nitpicking, harsh criticism, gossip, all kinds of other nastiness against them "just because". It's a shame some of his fans just can't be mature and respect that Prince is giving some musicians/artists a chance to showcase their talents while performing with him on stage.

I'm also a female fan, but I never felt jealous in any kind of his female band members, I love the band how it is now. Especially because there is loads of female bandmembers in the band right now, and I love Andy Allo!

i think it's quite obvious why prince has her on the scene & it's not 4 her guitar playing, singing or dancing skills!!

But I understand what you're trying 2 say, and I agree.

I hear you but you have to admit that often times some of his fans, both male and female, react very immaturely, with assumptions/speculations/gossip they create on their own about some of his female band members/associates, and how harsh and selective they are with their level of criticism towards particular, female band members, which he showcases and sheds the spotlight on.

Of course no one is saying that any of us have to like any band member, especially since we all have our various tastes in music, and entitled to our opinions, but I have to agree, with BlacqueKnight, about how some of Prince's female fans here tend to go off the deep end a bit, with some crazy, nutty speculations and assumptions, and how they create their own trumped-up stories surrounding any female that comes within 1 foot of Prince, just based on being at a show/watching the performance or just looking at him in a photo performing with a female band member.

its silly to bring up jealousy.... we're all used to prince having women in his band....

frankly, you can tell by the way he looks at her when they're playing he's a bit worried she won't get it right. in a couple of the stills posted in the forum, he looks like a parent teaching their kid to play catch. doesn't want it to bash in the nose or something. i for one don't care to see it... he's more than a capable gutarist, why muddy the stage with flirty half baked nonsense. ist much more fun to see and hear prince get loud on guitar and have fun with it, imo.

also, i never doubted wendy could play its just that i always found her sound and style too boring. PR was some of prince's most rockin material it's that i could always imagine hearing dez rock those parts properly, which is just a bias of mine i guess.

That is why I don't get very interested in the recent companions of Prince... everybody knows his "true soulmate" is Mayte. He even said it himself.

I guess it doesnt matter whether she can play or not. She's hot. Much better looking than his last protege, whats her face. I agree though, that she looks a bit dull while performing, as I recently saw, and that she looks sort of out of place only while during performance. She is a good aesthetic tribute because she makes Prince look cool.

No, not this time. Andy needs to learn how to play the guitar if she is being billed as "guitar"

on his announced setlist and is holding a guitar. Prince has been playing since he was a teenager

and probaby has known very few days in his life without his guitar. His other band members

are accomplished in thei respective instruments. This is a first for him. She should learn and

practice, just as Prince and his band members have learned and practiced or give up the

facade. IMHO her voice is enough. She adds alot to his band with her presence and her

voice.

She must have some serious Draws to be up there holding a guitar; too many replies from even guitar people to know she can't play. Look like it would be better just have her just as 3rd vocalist and call back Mike Scott, Miko, Wendy, etc. etc. Sounds like even Kat Dyson run circles around Andy!!!
