I play guitar for 16 years,i'm 29 now

and i can tell you that two years of playing means a lot but it is still nothing when it comes to that instrument.

there are many nuances in guitar playing that you can get only as time pass.

Andy did play a bit and .When DMSR started i was waiting to hear

her playing that essencial funk riff but she couldn't play, even if she could "play" it would sound flat and unfunky.

I can tell you this ,with Andy you will never hear her

and Prince trading Computer blue solo part.

Bootsy posted it on Facebook. That's where I saw it. Probably on the 'tube if you search, too. And, thedance, I wasn't trying to call you out for saying "turned on", I just thought it was a funny image since I AM a guitarist. I can imagine wondering what is wrong with my guitar and/or amp, checking cords, outlets, knobs, only to realize the damn thing wasn't turned on! I could play circles around this girl, but I am nowhere near as good-looking, so he probably won't be coming around here asking me to play in the NPG.

I'm just saying...

The average male rapper or member of a heavy metal band is not good looking, and neither are many athletes.

You're right, but she was only referring to females. That rule clearly doesn't apply to men, as proven by your own statement, lol.

I take it you haven't seen some of the players in the WNBA.

When it comes to women in popular music and movies, looks are everything. Very, very few make it that aren't somewhat cute. Talent just isn't the only thing that can get you in a movie or up on a stage, looks play a major part, especially with women. Look how many women that have made it with 0 talent (Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra, etc), but happen to be quite attractive. Heck, "Prince women" are classic examples!

You can say the same thing for male actors of today (at least in the USA). For every Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, or Shemar Moore, there's dozens of "character actors". Look at the popular actors from decades ago like Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Charles Bronson, or WC Fields. They wouldn't make it today, at least not as a leading man. wink I just see a lot of Tiger Beat type pretty boys. lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

lol That is fuck up on so many levels

1. That lets you know he doesn't take her seriously

2. He's courting women off his guitar playing skills ...lol omg prince wth?

3. it comes off as "Hey look at me do what you wish you could do bi*ch ahaahha" ( sounds of a shreding guitar).

Andy get out while you can girlfriend lol and sing a bitter song on stage in french with a heavy camroon accent and talk all types of shit then exit the stage real fierce lol

Billie Jean King gets endorsements too, and she can actually play. Also, Serena and Venus get way more endorsements than Anna ever did.

Andy Allo started learning guitar 2 years ago,and in 2 years

time you can learn the basics but it takes much more to get the feeling

required to play with Prince.

No wonder she didn't do funk guitar On DMSR

I'm worried this is the first time Prince have a band member who can't play their instrument, even Kirk knew basics of the drum

After looking at the french tv broadcast I agree. She's just a beginner on the guitar and has no place as a guitarist on the same stage as Prince. I mean she's very cute and all and it looks like Prince is definitely tapping that ass but damn, get a real guitarplayer and use her as a backgroundsinger or something, this is ridiculous. My advice to miss Allo: enjoy it while it lasts honey.

Maybe this is a stragedy Prince uses when he wants someone? He let the chosen woman make a CD or join his band, even though he knows she's not talented enough. Of course he knows his fans are gonna trash them...but that's just part of the plan. When the woman end up completely devastated by the reaction from his fans...Prince begins to comfort her in the sweetiest way...et voila! Without even knowing how it happened, she's in his bed... lol

Wow, that's really nasty. I didn't like the performance on French telly, so I don't wanna even start talking about this...I'm slightly disappointed, cause a) so many guest appearances in LA with the symbol stage and Sheila b) no guest appearances in Europe and shit stadiums (?)...a) solid shows in LA but b) impro shows in Europe. I mean i know some people prefer one over the other...but not me!

Prince is looking very relaxed in Europe, i have no idea what it means. Maybe relaxed cause he knows he can do what shit he wants. I remember him saying that actually.

Prince really needs to soujourn in Europe 4 a while. I think he feels less constricted in Europe

He said on the 20Ten song

Take me to the vineyards of Lavaux
Wanna see the mountains where the waters flow
Life back home depresses me, just another form of slavery
The cost of freedom is anything but free

There ain't nobody got no chains on me
I'm flying higher than any mountain, deeper than any sea

Even if you look at his concerts & image/clothing during the European shows pre W2America he was very loose and his look/clothing was a lot more free

I'm so sick of him kvetching about being enslaved! He can do whatever the fuck he wants to do! He has freedom that many of us will never know; The freedom to move wherever the fuck you want to because you have that kind of money, the freedom to never have to be nice and suck up to some shitass boss because you need your job, Im so sick of him talking about being a slave! If he had to work for some shitty company, making 10 dollars an hour with no insurance (even though you work 40 hours a week) then he could bitch!- trust me, I know a guy who is in this predicament- he used to make 75 thousand a year but in this economy has had to take whatever he can get- and he's always getting raked over the coals and taken advantage of at work but he has to do whatever he can do for work- Prince needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Seriously...guess why I'm a feminist? You guys put all the blame on the women, but without men accepting/wanting women as pure objects, it would not be possible for it to even excist. Personally I'm SO sick and tired of those posing pics of women... Just look at Prince's all exes...Mayte, Carmen Electra, Bria...whoever...all you get from them are sexy posing photos...why? Maybe because there's a market for it..!? In one way you seems to like it...on the other way, you don't seem respect those women at all...so what exactly do you want???! Women using their brains does not seem populair either...

Give this lovely girl Andy Allo just one chance..! She does seem pretty nice so far. And I'm sure she got a lot talent. Even that she's very pretty biggrin

As a matter of fact, I would LOVE to spend one night with Prince - TALKING! That would really be interesting...

She may be a beginner, but what does this "she's only been playing for two years" have to do with anything. Prince was taught how to play at 14 or 15 by 19 he was on television. Some people learn quicker than others.

your right Micky, BJK and the Williams sisters are made of substance, however Kournikova in comparison has made way more than them based on success. Kournikova never won a WTA singles title during her career, she is the poster girl(pun intended) of looks will get you everywhere.

Back on topic, around 5000 people have seen this girl live with Prince so far(apart from guest stints in LA), Ive read a comment from only one them. Back to the TV appearance, well it wasnt perfect, but hey you only have to wait for tonight to get some new reviews. I let you know in about a fortnight if she makes any impression on me musically.

Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

If you want to call yourself a guitar player ,

time must pass.

It's not about how quick you learn it it's more

what gets out of you.

yeah everybody can learn to

catch E-minor on guitar

but the Big difference is how that chord

is going to sound.

I think to get right amount of feel you

need practise guitar

for about 4 years to have

the right to call yourself a guitar player

even that is not enough.

Prince started learning guitar at the right age and he had

more the 4 years time to get acomplished on that instrument before his first album.

Back to Andy

On the video from France you can hear

Andy playing a bit of rhythm guitar on Peach.

It sounds pretty amaterish her rhythm playing and flat

and you know what, everytime when it was a turn around

on a Peach song Andy didn't play.

Do you know how easy is for a basic guitar

player to play Peach ?

So it's clear that she is a total Amateur

and for the first time Prince have a

band member who can't play their instrument.

And don't expect things to improve, judging by the way Andy acted she seems less like a hard worker and more like somebody who is rather faking the funk.

Althought she was out of key when she sang with Prince, judging by her utub

videos girl can sing.

I always admired Prince to be a perfectionist,to fine his musicians if they hit falsh note so it breaks my heart in a way to see him don't care about his art and letting his dick guide him instead for what is good for his music.

You're right in that "Peach" is a very, very easy song to play. So if she wasn't playing on "Peach" then she's got a long, long way to go.

I've been playing almost 26 years, and that was my impression, too.

Her involvement seemed incongruently prominent and amateur.

I thought it was odd, for example, how he led her down to the set and how she commented about being there to make sure he smiled for the cameras.

I was extremely underwhelmed by her "playing." But, maybe it was more for fun and games than serious performance.

Ida killed it, though. guitar
