He does know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's getting cheap musicians. Less experience equates to less money.

Your response is cheap. What inenexperienced musician does he have? Surely not john, ida, mr hayes, renato, cassandra (just cuz u may not know who she is doesn't mean she hasn't been around). Andy is in the band cuz he likes her; nothing less nothing more. When you start to pay the band you can make those decissions jack ass

Watching her on that shambles of a French tv performance reminded me of an infamous Manics gig...

The band, including Richie, were playing along with Richie giving it all on guitar....then everybody except Richies equipment failed exposing the sound of Richie making a god awful noise on his guitar that had previously been masked by everyone else.

Not only was her guitar not turned on, she managed about 2 chords...embarrassing

Wow, that's really nasty. I didn't like the performance on French telly, so I don't wanna even start talking about this...I'm slightly disappointed, cause a) so many guest appearances in LA with the symbol stage and Sheila b) no guest appearances in Europe and shit stadiums (?)...a) solid shows in LA but b) impro shows in Europe. I mean i know some people prefer one over the other...but not me!

Prince is looking very relaxed in Europe, i have no idea what it means. Maybe relaxed cause he knows he can do what shit he wants. I remember him saying that actually.

Prince really needs to soujourn in Europe 4 a while. I think he feels less constricted in Europe

He said on the 20Ten song

Take me to the vineyards of Lavaux
Wanna see the mountains where the waters flow
Life back home depresses me, just another form of slavery
The cost of freedom is anything but free

There ain't nobody got no chains on me
I'm flying higher than any mountain, deeper than any sea

Even if you look at his concerts & image/clothing during the European shows pre W2America he was very loose and his look/clothing was a lot more free

She didn't look like she could play to me, but maybe it was nerves. Her voice sounds just like Tamar's, IMO.

Her guitar is beautiful, though.

She's not that good yet. But if she's around Prince, hopefully she'll become good quickly...

She's learning from one of the best, but my confusion is how it is she's clearly learning on the job, and while the shows sound looser, they still sound like Prince shows - yet she looks to be visibly lost and stops playing during songs. Maybe there's another guitar off stage?

Anyone have some theories?

She is worse than Wendy when she first joined the band. At least Wendy could play a little bit. Andy has no skills from what I saw.

As for another guitar, I think Prince has a backing guitar track that he recorded playing in the background.

I was in Montreal upfront in the middle of the second night.

I've been playing guitar for almost two decades now.

I can tell you this - she's a beginner level guitar player. The entire night Prince appeared to be very interested in impressing her with his prowess of the stage and his guitar. The guy is probably interested in her personally.

As far as guitar playing is concerned though, she is certainly a beginner. For the person who thinks that two years is a good amount of time to be able to play guitar well, well you're totally bananas to think that. Prince bands are composed of professional musicians. Ida, John, Morris, Cassandra and Maceo are excellent musicians. Andy Allo is not from the same league.

If this is true I'm really disappointed in Prince.

I didn't see her performances so I'm not gonna saying anything about her lack of skill just yet.

If Prince offered to groom and teach her well that's just really cool and she one lucky son of a gun.

But its just very unsettling to know that she playing with prince and is not an experienced guitar player and It can come off as unfair to other musicians .

if i was Andy i was be sligtly embrassed, i wouldnt want to be up their looking like a lost puppy. lol

Someone said she only has two years under her belt lol shit technically I'm a more experienced musician than this girl and every current or ex high school band student lol lol i kiddd i kiddd

im just really confused right now. if ceelo can find a hot decent girl guitar player why cant Prince ?

lol

lol That is fuck up on so many levels

1. That lets you know he doesn't take her seriously

2. He's courting women off his guitar playing skills ...lol omg prince wth?

3. it comes off as "Hey look at me do what you wish you could do bi*ch ahaahha" ( sounds of a shreding guitar).

Andy get out while you can girlfriend lol and sing a bitter song on stage in french with a heavy camroon accent and talk all types of shit then exit the stage real fierce lol

I just can't believe Prince would pick a guitarist without skills.

She LOOKS really sweet and I won't judge her abilty to play the guitar, not yet.

there were technical problems in the Canal Plus studio, I don't think her guitar was even turned on, was it?

BUT it's a very clever headline to this thread, to draw everyones attention to "something" that is most likely: untrue.

Let her proove herself.

Her guitar was PLUGGED IN, not "turned on", as guitars have no on/off switch. It was plugged in, and the volume was low but I could clearly hear the few notes she hesitantly fingered. She may be alright, but two years is NOWHERE near enough time to be onstage with Prince. Honestly, I didn't see two years worth of talent in her guitar playing, and I didn't think her voice was that strong either. The notes were wavering. Now, she may just be starstruck, being onstage with Prince, but she better get over that quick if she wants a career in music. She had to be embarrassed, I almost imagine Prince MADE her bring the guitar onstage to sort of shame her into learning to play "his" way. I have not heard her album, or solo work, but judging by her performance that I saw she does NOT belong onstage with Prince or any of the members of his band. Wendy, when she first joined, had a rawness and passion you could feel. This chick, while easy on the eyes for sure, simply does not.

I'm just saying...

Hmmm, this sounds alot like another time when Prince brought a woman into his band with no talent/experience for personal reasons and worked to impress her...LOL Some things never change!! She's cute as a button though, so I can see Prince's appeal!! I watched this with a couple other fans and one usually quiet fan said, "I see Prince hasn't changed, he loves bringing in talentless women in his band. Why is it that he is such a genius when it comes to his music, but doesn't have an ear for talent when it comes to others?" LOL This led to an almost 3hr discussion. All I can do is hope he comes to his senses soon and gives the NPG a makeover...

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

When it comes to women in popular music and movies, looks are everything. Very, very few make it that aren't somewhat cute. Talent just isn't the only thing that can get you in a movie or up on a stage, looks play a major part, especially with women. Look how many women that have made it with 0 talent (Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra, etc), but happen to be quite attractive. Heck, "Prince women" are classic examples!

^ lol

If this was a correction to me: Plugged in vs. turned on,

please note I am - like Bass-Ida - from Denmark...... (non english speaking) sorry for not knowing the correct expression, I can tell I am no guitarist either...

now back on track, maybe she was nervous, who knows...

Andy looks to me really sweet and if her guitar is plugged in, I am sure she will proove herself very skilled.... wink
