JJ has written as her status - "In about 15 years Chris Brown you too will be accepting your Lifetime Achievement Award from BET and all of this will be behind you!!You're not the only man in that room unfortunately who beat a woman but you got caught and now are the example for all of your role models who piously sit by and watch."

Hasn't Jill posted other comments on FB or Myspace that were clearly about Prince and were, um....less than complimentary? Seems like she's got a few residual resentments that sometimes get the best of her and then she goes on these sites and lets loose.

I saw that desperate and bitter comment and responded. I let her have it. That comment posted above is the edited version, she posted something outright attacking Prince before that. Sad, lonely obsessed woman. At least Manny posted one sensibly.

There's that...and then there's the whole freedom of speech thing that the US has going for it - which also allows those who know nothing about the situation (past, present or future) to comment as if they know what they're talking about...

• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

"you're not the only man in that room unfortunately who beat a woman"

She worked/was involved with Prince, but if I hadn't know that I wouldn't have taken that to mean him specifically. IMHO it's as much a calling out of the hypocrits in the room in general as it is any jab at Prince in particular.

I'm firmly planted in denial

Chasing what does Jill Jone's comment have to do with Prince? She's correct about Chris Brown not being the only one in the room who beat a women. She didn't name Prince so where is this thread going?

She changed her status, previously it did specifically mention Prince! SHe swiftly changed it as it was clearly defamatory! She really does seem to have an axe to grind with the pocket genius!

This situation is yet another example of how dangerously easy it is nowadays, when emotion clouds your good judgement, to go on sites like FB and make public personal issues that are better kept private.

I read it. Jill Jones is history as far as Prince is concerned and if she had something to say she would have told it before the BET awards. If she took it down she probably came out of her drunken stupor.

Heres a new one, we dont know! and none of us no matter how much we love his work have that perspective. I only wish if it did occur she could have done something to make sure he was accountable for the behavior. BET does have a sickening history of rallying around brotha's clearly guilty of anti-social/criminal behavior. R Kelly anyone?. They spin everything into a matter of race or redemption when sometimes a cat needs to pay a price. I wasnt moved by Chris Brown, my daughter is 22 and i remember those pictures and frankly there would not be a safe corner on this earth for the punk.

Here's the thing: if Prince hit Jill, she should have done something about it then. Not wait until 25 years after the fact, when all she can do is cast aspersions.

My guess is that she soft-pedaled the whole thing because she was expecting him to release an album for her. She sold her dignity for 30 pieces of silver - and accuses him now?

Yes, we all saw the pics, but we only seen Rhianna's injuries. These two have had an emotionally-charged relationship from its beginning. The same sources later revealed that Rhianna wasn't the only one that got her ass kicked that night. It was decided that Chris would take the blame for the incident in order to not have any charges pressed against Rhianna. As you may know, the rules have changed when it comes to who get arrested. People arrest both parties now. And Rhianna had every intention of staying in the relationship until the public rallied behind her and her "celebrity" grew.

Now, I am a black woman who was an abusive relationship and know how easy it is to "feed" on the attention that you get once its out. Because when I stayed at a local domestic-violence shelter, there were several women there that did just as Rhianna has done. In the public, it's "look what he's done to me, how could he do this" but, in private, it's secret phone calls and plans to be by his side.

I don't condone domestic violence, obviously, but be honest about what's going on. Everyone, including me, were very angry about Chris/Rhianna. No one on Earth was on Chris's side, and that include BET. And, unlike Chris, people did back R Kelly, Clarence Thomas, O.J., Michael, and Sean Combs. And how many of the above mentioned were obviously guilty?

It's not a black thing or a white thing...it's a green thing.

Going back to Chris, I forgive him. What he did was incredibly stupid and he has paid for what he did, unlike R Kelly and some of the others. Especially, being that Rhianna has moved on to next torrid relationship.

It's a little bit disturbing that some people on here are quick to condemn her, I mean if she and Prince fought and he hit her, then she's perfectly in the right to bring it up whenever the fuck she wants... forever until she passes.

She knows Mr. Nelson much better than any of you, unless you are also former employees lurking (which has happened many times on here).

Lot's of people have an angry side that gets the better of them. Especially in their youth.
