The time / The Family - who's ready...

OK so now that Prince's 20ten has dropped, who here is looking forward to new albums by the Time and the Family?

Can't speak for the Time's (supposed) new stuff but Gaslight by the Family is 10 times better than anything on 20ten. Sorry!

Granted maybe I'm just to demanding of Prince since I know what he is truly capable of compared to the Time and the Family.

Anyway any thoughts about new Time/Family music?

Peace!

The New Family (F Deluxe) album is killer and I think that it would make Prince proud if he heard it!!!

JP! Good to see you here (I friended you on Facebook).

I agree about Prince being proud if he heard it. I think, from the half dozen tracks I've heard, it's absolutely fucking superior to anything Prince has done in the past 10 years. And that ain't hatin' on Prince - it's just such quality material, well played, doesn't sound dry or boring, it's not preachy, it's just, well.......as Prince said, Real Music By Real Musicians!

Of course it'll be great to have a new Time album after 20 farkin' years! This really is shaping up to be a great year for music. I'm discovering a lot of great acts I've missed over the past few years, too. Angela Johnson. Calvin Richardson. Conya Doss, plus folks like Janelle Monae, Leela James, N'Dambi, Sharon Jones + The Dap-Kings. 2010 is a rich year for music.

Right on Ernest! Thanks for your support of Paul and F Deluxe. Take care Bro, JP

I'm ready. FDeluxe, I think is going to bring it the tightest. I'm not sure what The Time record is going to be. I doubt they truly get what we're looking for and I expect the record to be forgettable. The FDeluxe project, from what I've heard, could hold it's own musically against anything though. So that's the record I most want to hear. And let's just leave poor Prince to his meditations and medications. Dude's nerves are shot and I don't think it's fair to take anything he does seriously anymore. yes Princey... the internet is dead... would you like more orange sherbert? Yes Leveaux is much better without the part about doing the girl in the azz in Portugal.. biggrin

Of the two...I'd put my $ on the Time project. Jam, Lewis and Jesse writing!?!.....plus they will be playing live....that's gonna be solid.

The Family....I'm sure St. Paul will do his best to impersonate Prince's writitng for them ....so in that regard it may be worth while. Since this is the 25th yr since their 1st release...it will be interesting 2 hear.
