CONTEST CLOSED! INSIDE THE .ORGERS STUDIO: AN EXCLUSIVE Q & A WITH WENDY & LISA!

That's right, you read it correctly.

The Girl Bros. themselves will be answering questions just for the .org, discussing their long and impressive careers, which have seen the release of critically acclaimed albums, the scoring of soundtracks for television and film, years of producing and collaborating with other artists, and last but not least, let's not forget that Revolutionary band they were in back in the day...

Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman have been releasing their own music since their self-titled debut in 1987. Last year they released their fifth album, "White Flags of Winter Chimneys", on their own label. Their new release, as well as much of their past catalog, can be purchased at their official site, wendyandlisa.com.

TV audiences currently hear Wendy & Lisa's music on the hit NBC series Heroes, for which they provide the score. A soundtrack for the series was released this year and is undoubtedly available at your closest friendly retailer.

As for who the two have worked with...who HAVEN'T they worked with??? A partial list includes Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Meshell Ndegeocello, Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, Seal, Victoria Williams, k.d. lang and Grace Jones.

And then, of course, there is Prince.

Many fans and critics point to Wendy & Lisa as being the energy behind some of Prince's most experimental and adventurous recordings. For a period during Prince's purple reign of the 80s, he and "the girls" were seemingly inseparable, appearing together at awards ceremonies and posing together for the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in 1986. For many, Wendy & Lisa are considered a crucial influence on Prince's evolution as an artist.

Meanwhile, the pair have certainly enjoyed their own post-Revolution evolution.

From the ashes of their totally 80s paisley pop superstardom, Wendy & Lisa have succeeded in forging their own identity, winning a strong fan base along the way and gaining the respect of the recording community. Theirs is not a musical partnership that needs to rely on the distant past in order to be celebrated in the here and now. In 2009, these out-and-proud gals have a critically acclaimed new album and one of the most talked-about television scores since the days of Angelo Badalamenti and Twin Peaks.

Not too shabby. bow

And one other thing these ladies can do...they can give a great interview.

Especially when the interviewer is...YOU.

That's right.

We're looking for YOU to come up with some fantabulous questions for us to ask Wendy & Lisa for the inaugural installment of our Inside the .orgers Studio interview series.

Show us your journalistic chops and wow the Girl Bros. with your most insightful queries. Is there something you've always been itching to know but never heard them mention in an interview? Now's your chance to ask!

We will compile the best questions from your submissions on this thread, and then we will submit your quizzical Qs to the ladies so they can then provide us with an assortment of amazingly articulate As.

After they're good and finished with what they have to say to your questions, we will then of course post the results as our first mind-blowingly scintillating .orgers Studio interview feature!

Might there be other surprises? Perhaps.

Oh, perhaps. hmmm

But for now...WE'RE GONNA INTERVIEW WENDY AND LISA, Y'ALL!!! woot! dancing jig

Speaking of which....Submit your questions below. We're tentatively looking at getting a list to the gals by May 21, so get crackin'...

What are the challenges of creating a 10 sec piece for Heroes?
How much creative control do you have, when making music for television shows, discuss the politics involved in what determines the final product.

Will you consider coming to Sydney for a series of shows?

If p decided to revisit the Roadhouse Garden project - would you support & contribute to its evolution? Maybe a Revolution Retropective?

Have you kept any of your costumes from the Revolution era?

And finally just an FYI, I am flying the W&L GirlBros flag high & proud in Sydney - the t-shirts on your site rock!!!!

Prince recently played one of my favorite unreleased tracks"In a Large Room with No Lights" for the first time live I believe, were you two involved with that recording? It sounds like your voices. If so what do you remember about that song? did you help write it? what is your opinion of the song?

As surreal as the dress room 'scene in Purple Rain' is in 'real life',(Don't fuck it up-line, Wendy), do you both believe things could have been 'different' if Prince's control was less prevelent back then as it is now?

Another song question:
In '97' the "artist" dedicated (written backwards)"In this Bed I Scream" to you guys along with Susannah on the liner notes of the Emancipation album. What was your reaction to that? Was the gesture followed up with any kind of conversation between you guys and Prince? Basically is there a cool story behind this song?

Name one album that Prince & The Revolution never released, except Road House Garden(speculation)...or that you both have worked on?

Name your favorite 'Prince song' of all time. Wendy-Lisa.

Can you name Prince's favorite track of Wendy & Lisa works?

Thank you so much for doing this interview with the org. We love you!

Are you actually fans of the show "Heroes"? Are you fans of these types of movies (superhero/comic)?

Grace Jones' "Williams' Blood" is probably the best song of last year from an excellent album. Grace Jones (or her people) have said that she recorded at least two albums worth of material. Is there another song you worked on with her? Would you work with her again?

Do you still listen to Prince? What is your favorite Prince song/album that was made after your tenure with him?

As time is passing are you finding the style of music you are both doing is
changing for the journey your paths are on mentally/ emotionally or are you finding that you are adapting for the listeners more
we love it either way but i am finding artists are changing for tha fans more than their hearts and is the final product what you wanted
love what you share with us thanks
