It's really starting to become like a disease. Isn't there a thread left in here where people aren't desperately trying to voice their opinion but in an annoying, aggressive way?
What is it with you guys, don't you have anything to say at home or at work?

Well, I think this new cd will be nice but I'll just wait until it comes out and then voice my opinion. The things I've heard over the last few months sounded funky.

"there was only one weak track on the album"

If you're referring to "River Run Dry",I disagree. That's one of the BEST songs on the album music

THEN don't buy it. Holy crap. Simple right? You are entitled to your personal opinion, but don't dog people who might like something you don't.
Poor Eric and Clare get NO credit for the sound huh? Some people just sippin' koolaid 24/7.

Anyone with a Dalek for an icon shouldn't be lobbing stones wink

Even if this wasnt a project that had a Prince connection, I'd be digging it cos I'm a fan of St Paul, and I have a lot of respect for the talents of Susannah, Eric, Jellybean, Clare Fischer, etc.

To think that all those talented musicians can't come together and write some great songs without Prince's involvement is crazy.

I love Prince just as much as the next orger and a lot more than many, but he isn't the be-all and end-all of music.

Unless you're that nerdy fan/self appointed spokesperson for the 'band' (let's face it, Prince WAS the band, they just lent some vocals to one of his side-projects), then why give a crap about this? The one true ingredient that made The Family album worthy isn't involved with this desperate attempt reclaim some former half-lived glory.

It'd be like a Time album without any Prince involvement. Apart from 3 or 4 fanatics, who'd give a flying fuck??

Without Prince's involvement, it simply ain't a Family album. Simple maths: No Prince-penned songs + No Prince music\direction = No Point!

Move on...

In my opinion prince always is and will be influenced by the musicians he collaborate with,
and even "borrowed" parts or lines....
So the Family album , the Revolution albums etc. where that great by the involvement of the band.....
Prince's genius lies in the fact of choosing the right musicians and getting the most out of them.....

Listening to the new family tracks and the Wendy & Lisa albums it made clear for me where prince got his sound from.....
