First off, thank you for agreeing to do this interview!
In a recent article, Lisa said this about the Purple Rain era: "We became a number one selling band. We won Grammys, People's Choice Awards, and even an OSCAR. We stood on the shoulders of giants, AND our own experiences. It was an indescribable feeling." Please can you tell us just a little about that period in your life? What were the biggest transformations/effects it had on you/Prince and the Revolution? Would you want to experience that level of super-stardom ever again? Also, can you tell us about the build-up to a concert? What goes through your heads backstage? And what's it like to perform in front of so many people, all there to see you? What happens afterwards?

Hi Wendy and Lisa
My Question to you both is do you think that there will ever be a Prince and the Revolution Reunion and do you think that the best of Prince is yet to come. Thank You

I second the question about who influenced them on their respective instruments. Would be great to see a list of early influences from both of them.

Hi W&L.
At last we have White Flags of Winter Chimneys! Will there be any recordings surfacing from the Pacifico project? and predictably I'm afraid I have to ask... when are you coming to the UK to perform? I have never seen you live and it would be a dream come true to get to a gig of yours! M

Thank you Wendy and Lisa for taking time out of your obviously busy lives to do this Q&A. Love the new album!
Question: Both of you have a refreshing honesty and openness in interviews that seems to be quite rare these days. It's very much appreciated. Can you please share an anecdote about your time with Prince that you don't think has been revealed before? Not looking for dirt, just some significant insight into the seemingly special bond that you three shared and may want the rest of us to know about. Thank you. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Hello Lisa and Wendy, I am a long time admirer of you both and thank you for gracing this site with your pressence and time. First off, I gotta take this opportunity to tell you Lisa that I, probably more so than anyone else on this site, has sung your praises. Not as Wendy and Lisa but as Lisa. I have sung your praises to the high heavens. I'm the cat that was always posting "Man look, when I was a kid, I had such a major crush on Lisa." to "Lisa was sooo cool and sooo fine." to "Ya'll just don't know, Lisa brought a lot to what P was doing in the early 80's. Her singing was perfect for P's sound especially on Controversy, The Time's first album and the 1999 album." I made people sick on here talking about how fine I thought you were! Anyway, me being a professional musician myself and having worked with Morris and Andre, I too have been an o.g. fan of P's from jump street. I've seen you live in concert playing with P on the Controversy & 1999 tours. I was actually at the Premire as a ticket holder inside Mann's Chinese Theatre at the Purple Rain premire. I was actually in a few rows right in front of you both while I was talking to Dez. (I'm on the footage of the PR 20th Anniversary dvd.) And of cousre seeing you both multiple times on the Purple Rain tours and on the Hit & Run tour. I like many P fans know the major contributions you two brought to P's thing.
Question...Wendy, do you remember feeling ANY pressure regarding you thinking that you had "Big shoes" to fill when you replaced Dez? Naturally, I would assume you felt pressure in joining P's band, especially then when P was exploding with the PR film and the album. But do you remember ever feeling pressure specifically dealing with replacing a guitarist such as Dez Dickerson? Someone who was largely responsible for bringing to P's band a certain level of musicianship, stage pressence and imagery? [Edited 5/14/09 16:52pm] SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

For the song "Fruit at the Bottom" the object of your desire in that song appears to be a guy.. "I've got a lover, and it's his love I feed". Was there pressure from the record company to do that or was that your choice? Just something I've always been a little curious about. It recently popped into my head when I was singing along to "Salt + Cherries", because I wondered if S+C was almost like a gay wink to the male fruit reference of FATB. Or maybe I just have too much time on my hands. Whatever the case, both songs rock (ESPECIALLY S+C!!!)... as do both of you.

One thing that I've always been curious about is your name change. I know that @ one point you were called Lisa and Wendy (from Purple Rain movie) But once you two debut with your first album W/Columbia, you changed to Wendy and Lisa? What gives?(not that their is anything wrong with Wendy and Lisa, just curious to know...and what do you think of the state of popular music today?? [Edited 5/14/09 20:09pm] I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

Hey Lisa and Wendy
Hey Lisa I read somewhere that you was part of a band back in the 70s as a teenager is that true? Can you tell me more about it and who were the members? Same goes for you Wendy it was mention somewhere you was part of a high school band as well can u tell us about that band and what type of music the band played? And also Lisa have you consider to score video games? And also in your opinion what are the pros and cons of scoring for video games. It seems like that with your vast impressive scoring of work that it is kind of surprisingly you two have not got into video games scoring consider Lisa have love for them.

1) Has a negative review ever influenced you creatively? Has a music review ever influenced you in any way?
2) If music wasn't a factor, which movie would you find more entertaining? Vanilla Ice's 'Cool as Ice' or Prince's "Graffiti Bridge"?
