So who made the video?
Who has the full 3rd Annual "Prince Family Reunion" on DV? Please contact me. Or get the audio from DaD yourself to dub over. Please release the result. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

The song "94 East" aka Pepe Willie did was "If You See Me", and it was grrrrreat!
All these years I have avoided buying that 94 East album feeling as if I was somehow betraying Prince. But after seeing Pepe live I think I've been missing out and am going to download it from iTunes!

But after seeing Pepe live I think I've been missing out and am going to download it from iTunes! is it called "if you see me" or is it called "do yourself a favour"? it's funny, because the shuffle play on my iPod pulled up prince's version just a couple of days before that show...and wherever i might have FOUND that version , it was labeled as "do yourself a favour"

I had never heard the song before that night, seemed like title would go with the chorus of "Do Yourself a Favor" (or Favour, you must be British!) so I googled it and found this thread where someone says it is actually called "If You See Me": http://prince.org/msg/7/275444 Which is also the name of the 94 East track on iTunes as well. Is there a version with Prince vocals out there?

Is there a version with Prince vocals out there? There is an early 1980's outtake of Do Yourself A Favor with Prince on vocals (and everything else). The source quality is very good. Jesse Johnson also did a cover of it on his 1986 Shockadelica LP. The earliest version of the song is sung by Pepe Willie and titled If You See Me. I'm not sure how much involvement either Prince or Pepe had in the original composition. My guess would be that it was a joint effort circa 1977. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Just wondering if Kip Blackshire ever was on? I didn't get to see the whole show.
p.s.Thought everyone looked amazing, and sounded funky as ever. Loved the energy on stage. Some look like they have been pumpin iron. [Edited 6/18/09 6:01am]

And i was also very surprised to find this photo-quality on flickr.com Playbsides, the photograhper, did a great job on that. I'll keep an eye online to see what else might pop-up from the reunion-event. I'm really curious to hear soundboard-results of the complete evening. The setlists are awesome !

Shango said: XNY said: I got there late but was able to see Mazarati perform...great show, I wish they had played a little longer. Didn't hear 'Player's Ball' my fave, oh well. The portion of the show I saw was good, esp Margie Cox's version of 'Nasty Girl'- that was awesome! Even moreso, Mint Condition's version of 'She's Always In My Hair' was the highlight of my night(I got there halfway thru the night).
I would've like to have heard G-Sharp more, he was the best part of last year's show by far. Seemed like there were too many bands this year and not enough time to get to enjoy them all before they were done, and then onto the next band...Promoters: think about making it two nights next year. You have plenty of talent and songs to work with. (something like: tix for both nights $40, one night $25). Thanks for the show folks! THANK YOU FOR SHARING XNY Hope someone captured it on audio or video. Did you get a chance to talk to some musicians/singers ? sorry about the long wait for a response...i just got back from my honeymoon... anyway, i only talked with Damon Dickson(sp?) who was in the audience. Damon is one the nicest guys i've ever known- I got to know him during the Celebrations weeks and he just very positive. A good night of music! Seemed like i heard a lot of the bands' "original" songs when most of the fans were there to hear Prince songs. I could be wrong, but that's why i was there.
