Then why bother at all!?
P did NOT release his music he wrote for here/with her/etc.
So he did not approve, after all that happened.
Why would that material come out now?
And why would you be so interested?
He won't be playing, you don't like the singing...

Please put stuff into perspective.

what lable is she with or it this a indie effort?

It will b interesting to see if she can muster up any noteable interest (air play/chart success). I wish her all the best.

Its a shame Pricne has had no successful protege hit a high note for about 10+ years..... That is on the charts not in the bedroom ; ).

hmmm I think you're referring to "Everybody Dance" by Tamara and The Seen,a 1985 single produced by Jesse Johnson.Prince has nothing to do with that song.Interestingly,"Tamara" is actually Margie Cox,who later worked with Prince (remember "Standing At The Altar"?).

True, but is seems Tamar's name is on the credits on the Lotusflow3r cd, so maybe that is the song (Kept Woman) he gave her credit on, besides the fact it states Tamar is one of the vocalists on the lotusflow3r cd, but it does not state specifically which song. At least I dont' think it does. I have to go back and check the liner notes on the site to see if it states specifically which song Tamar received credit for.

maybe i am being naive but I don't think p would fuck anyone over - not intentionally at least - I just can't believe that about him. Tamar is good and I wish I could stay one more day to see her - I really hope her album does well even if it is not Milk & Honey.

We don't know what goes on so we shouldn't judge

Tamar was a writer. She discussed how she and Prince wrote the songs for her album.

As for Tamar being included on Lotus, I feel those tracks were recorded while they were promoting and writing for the 3121 and Milk and Honey projects.

Thanks, I saw her MTV interview back in 2006 and yes, I remember her stating that. Just wasn't sure which song she is a vocalist on, on Prince's Lotusflow3r cd. Also, not sure if anyone is hearing a 2nd female's voice on "Elixir", but it sounds a bit like Tamar's voice somewhere in that song as well in the middle of that song, because if you listen to Tamar's song "Runaway" on her site, there's a part in "Elixer" that sounds just like her voice, similar to what I am hearing on the "Elixer" track. Too bad there's no official way to confirm this from Prince's team.

I don't think Tamar was 100% innocent in what happened (or Prince for that matter).

confuse Please explain ur theory?

Mine is that Universal listened to the project and didn't think it was marketable enough. Even with her on tour promoting it and selling out venues, it wasn't enough. Not to mention, they didn't know which audience to market her to. She is not the typical "Beyonce-type" that's selling now. No matter how talented she is, the media is not going to accept an unknown that isn't a Beyonce-clone at this moment.

My theory is that Tamar got too self-important and didn't want to take all of Prince's advice (e.g. wouldn't do what he told her). At the same time, (for whatever reason), Universal & Prince had a falling out and promotion for the 3121 projects ceased. I think that Universal only agreed to release Tamar's album because they wanted Prince. When relations between Prince & Universal soured, they dropped Tamar because they never really wanted to spend the money on her anyway--they just agreed as part of the Prince deal. Prince didn't fight for Universal to release her album, or choose to release it through NPG himself (which he could have done, right?) because he & Tamar had also had a falling out.

Just my twocents.

That's a good theory also. It makes sense from the other side of the coin.

Your theory gives way to mine that "Guitar" is all about Tamar.
