Join Tamar and listen to her new CD Saturday, April 18th in Houston

Tamar's got a new CD finished and she's going to premier it this Saturday, April 18th in Houston. Here are the details of the location:

Red Cat Cafe
924 Congress
Houston, Texas 77002
713-226-7870

She spins the as-yet-unnamed CD at 12:00 noon. I'm told it has a real rock feel to it.

See you there!

that reminds me of when i spent $312.10 twice in Vegas to see her do half of each show

but i ended up loving her voice

way better than Bria (not saying Bria does not have a good voice)

I wish her will with this effort, and I hope it sees the light of day because it was a shame that "Milk & Honey" was never released. It is so sad to listen to the sense of accomplishment and expectation in her voice on the "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed" reprise when she talks about making that album. sad

Btw - I also love Red Head Stepchild! She's got some versatility, so I hope she taps into that on this new album because the tracks she did with Kwame were not doing it for me.

Agreed 100%..isn't it strange that Prince let's this one slip yet decides to release that rubbish by Bria..I think I must have listened to the first few seconds of every track and skipped to the next...could do a lot better!!

Yeah, I was about to say, is this one I already have (Milk & Honey), or a "new" new one?

True, love her song "Runaway" playing on her website, she puts a lot of emotion into that song.

She has a great voice and besides that. The whole Tamar tour made Prince fall in love with his guitar again so she can do no harm in my book smile

I was telling a very negative and debating person I know here that one can't count her out. She has to much talent not for it to rise one day and now here it is. I love stuff like this, now I I can slam him in the face with all the Good News.

Tamar I am waiting to hear the goods wink

Come on, she can sing. She has a different style than some of his previous protoges, but she does have talent. I liked her first album. I also liked the leaked video that came out at the end of last year.

Funny enough I believe Bria's album is better than LotusFlower (which borderline sucks). It has nice tunes. When I first heard the opening song, it took me back to the 90's R&B. And it has also nice jazzy tunes plus a solid disco joint.

But I think Tamar's album would have been better (judging from the concert I've been to).

It'll be an independent release. I don't think Prince played on this, but I'm told the guitar work is very Princey.
