Prince's ex-wife Manuela Testolini helps children the world over

Born and raised in North York, she still calls the Bayview Ave. area home. A law and sociology student at York University, she was a philanthropist at heart and eventually left Toronto to pursue a career in Minneapolis. There, she founded her children's foundation, In A Perfect World, a non-profit organization that partners with other community-based associations to inspire and empower children.

AND SHE ENDED UP GOING TO COLLEGE IN CANADA? eek

North York is an area of Toronto.

I like most everyone I'm sure do not know anything about Prince's personal lifestyle with Manuella...However, anyone that is spending their life consciously caring for the welfare of other's is doing the very best that they can.

Being involved with Prince romantically I'm sure is many a girl's greatest dream, although if rubbing elbows with Prince even briefly inspires a positive change for the less fortunate...It is a valuable meeting of minds.

Like all failed relationships...I wish them both healed hearts over their situation. cool

I dislike her.
Because she married Prince, do you think that there is the present?
While there is her with Prince, I forget the first pureness and know that I saw vanity from the face of the photograph.
She used Prince for clearly one's business.
She doesn't have thanks to Prince.

You can't really knock someone who's main thing is charity work.

However, there are two types of charity, there's the rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty kind. And then there's the organising charity galas and networking parties to massage the egos and aleviate the guilt of the gullable and Nouveaux Riche.

I have absolutely no idea how much of the former she does, and if that is what she does more power to her, but it sure sounds like she does a lot of the latter with her "scented lifestyle products". shrug

it sure does lol charity is just another way to work your way into the
world of the rich and famous.

evillol

seriously tho, i never minded her too much but from that cold statement
about her and prince above i'm thinking it's pretty sad if you have to
jump in there when a man and a woman are going through a rough patch as
with prince and mayte, and snatch up the hubby on the rebound.

ah what do i know, she might be the nicest person in the world with the
best possible motives but today i just feel like branding her a total
bitch.

I'm sure Prince is funding her business and philanthropy with his alimony payments...well I'm sure he is not easy to be married to, but she does seem a bit cold. But he's the one who signed the marriage contract with her...he's obviously a romantic and it gets him into trouble sometimes.

I'm tired of this always-defending-Prince crap. She left a bad relationship with a man who loves himself more than other people. She does for other people, unlike Prince and benifits society. Prince just hangs in clubs and buys expensive pianos.

She is at least being responsible. That she is with Benet tells us more about Prince than her. Good for her.

[b]I agree it is obvious what hidden goals she had while "married" to Prince. She obviously was using him to advance herself publicly and financially. She has the nerve to say she was in the "spotlight" implying she became "famous." I think she should realize she became "infamous."

As much as she was trying to pose in pictures with Prince every chance she had and all the magazines ads for her Altru product with her in the pictures when she could have just used a picture of the product is very telling and she is obviously not "camera shy." "Altru" - please - I think she needs to rebrand the product name to be "All Lies" for the sake of accuracy.

Can anyone say Golddigga, Hussler, Opportunist - just a few words that come to mind when reading this interview which is another sad attempt at trying to draw attention to herself. It is sickening how she would play with someone's life for her selfish reasons but yet is pretending to be concerned about other people with her "charity" work.

By the way can the Moderators on Prince.org remove the thread link about this sickening excuse for a human being from the front page of the site!!!

She most certainly does the former... I participated in one of her charity's events with underprivileged children, and she was very hands-on, taking genuine interest, and very nurturing care with the children. She literally rolled her sleeves up and got her hands dirty (well not with dirt but with paint smile to work on art projects and such.

I can't comment on her relationship with Prince because neither I, nor do most of the people here, know anything about that other than she was a fan.

Whatever went down, I agree with Tame: anyone who is attempting to improve the living conditions of the people less fortunate gets props from me.

being Prince's ex-wife sounds a lot more interesting than being Eric Benet's girlfriend and it opens a lot more doors too ... that's why even when they weren't together, she kept wearing her ring and "word on the street, he's still your man" all came about!

she didn't look so shy on the red carpet at the Grammy's with Benet, she actually interjected with no one addressing her - now that is NOT a shy person's reaction twocents

maybe i'm the only person who doesn't think she comes off as the goddess of all things evil in this interview. oh well. shrug

saying that being married to prince helped her learn about business just sounds like a very neutral/professional/tactful way to field people wanting to ask her for dirt about her marriage to prince. i'm sure she's not allowed to say much if anything about her marriage (you know prince and his gag orders), so when she's asked about it in interviews, she's gotta say SOMEthing. she can't say "prince made me sign a piece of paper preventing me from talking about him, sorry." mayte has said similar things about her days with prince, saying that being a member of the NPG gave her a great education for being in showbiz. they're just keeping the interview on the professional tip and not on the personal. i don't see anything wrong with that.

mani might be an evil, manipulative witch or she might very well be a decent, hard-working, ambitious woman. i don't know her, so i can't say. nothing in this interview makes me view her one way or the other, though. good for her for doing charity work, whatever her motivation may be. if the end result is actually helping people, then i can't fault her for that.

actually that statement is not a big deal to me, because whether its mani or anyone else, you get divorce from a wealthy person, you're gonna walk away with something. I guess the article just seems fraudelent. Saying that she went to Minneapolis to pursue a career, we all know thats bullshit and her actions tells me that she loves the fame and attention, as opposed to her being shy. In her defense, no matter what she does, she has the cloud of stalker over her head and her stalkership is what got her here, so i guess she found a way to navigate beyond that, but like I said, one day she's gonna cross an interviewer who knows the deal and we'll see how she dodges those questions.

I think the interviewer should have asked Mani to elaborate just a little more to find out exactly what she meant when she said life with prince was a roller coaster. I think if we would have gotten that info we would have understood her better. Roller coaster could mean they constantly traveled, or maybe he was at times very moody, unpredictable or just not present enough.

I also want to add that she may still be very bitter about having to have gone through the divorce in the first place so naturally she will say that the good that did come out of the marriage was a platform for her charity work and business.

Grant it, she could have been more tactful, and could have carefully placed her words so as not to be misunderstood. I think in time she will speak in a way that shows more gratitude towards Prince regardless of what went down. He is the reason why she has 2 homes, is rich and can work her business and charities. If she would not have met and married Prince she would be like the rest of us, an unknown, middle to upper middle class people with one house or live in an apartment and going on Prince.org to get the latest about Prince!

It amazes me that is what she used to do and somehow managed to get out of the Prince forums and into Paisley Park. AMAZING!!

But at this point, she is so through with Prince, has Eric now and unlike Mayte and the others who kept quiet she decided to turn a negative into a positive and use the "Prince's ex-wife" status to her advantage.

I'm sure Prince has given millions throughout his life to charities and chooses NOT to speak on it, wheareas Manuela feels the need to be very vocal with her giving and her charity work.

She said she gets really shy while on the red carpet but goes to support her man which is admirable.

In closing, I just feel that Manuela is in a good space in her life, she probably wants to say so much more about how things went down with her and Prince but to avoid legal troubles she must remain quiet.

She went to college and majored in sociology and law, but after meeting Prince her goals, dreams and ambitions changed. She used her degree and business savvy to make her charity dreams a reality. I'm sure she really wanted her marriage to work, but what I can't understand is that she filed for the divorce, reports say that Prince didn't want the divorce. Obviously it was something unforgivable for her and had to get off of the roller coaster!

I do agree with the previous orger, I still don't and will never feel that it was right to have jumped in when Prince and Mayte were having problems and then she was the rebound girl. She knew what she was doing, and life has a way of biting you in the ass when you do wrong. She was partially responsible for Prince's marriage going south. I'm sure she wasn't like "Prince, I want you to make it work with Mayte, I don't want to get in the way with whats happening." She did an Angelina Jolie on Prince big time!!!

So, Manuela's marriage has failed, but she needs to really be honest with herself and say, hey....I went into the marriage with Prince with false pretenses. I know I grabbed this man from Mayte and the timing could not have been more wrong! Now I'm getting my payback!

So, I wish the very best for Mani, Eric and India and hopefully there won't be anymore drama in Mani's life, just good. Hopefully she has learned a big lesson and after her near death experience in Mumbai will value peoples lives.....not just the poor, but to leave men alone who are married or who are on the brink of divorce. Hopefully Mani has really grown up, searched her soul and come into the light and respect Karma because what comes around truly goes around!
Having said all that,we've not heard the last of Manuela. In time she will heal from the marriage not working out with Prince, will marry again and have children. She's still trying to figure it all out right now, that's my take on it.
