i'm excited to see the bruhs reunited. i'll cop the disc and definitely the Detroit show which they'll HAVE to do if they tour. they know whassup. i trust what Jimmy and Terry have learned over the years and the rest of the band's musicianship, it'll be fonky. question is how will mainstream radio respond? it don't think it'll chart well so they have to hit the road. | |

the time has always been about prince i guess yall fail 2 realize the majority of the the records were just prince and morris day in the studio so 2 try 2 limit him is like makin a prince record without prince on it the time has always been about prince he started the band just like all of his side projects the time members were more or less 4 live stuff prince did the majority of studio 4 them so a new record may or may not be well recieved since the whole time image and sound was constructed by prince so stop trying 2 make prince look or seem so bad when he is the time honestly | |

Now that is realistic and a big compliment as well. | |

Prince has indeed molded the band-concept and recorded tight tracks for them. Doesn't take away that The Time has defenitely proved their power onstage for a long time and without the help of Prince. And imo some solid cuts which they composed & recorded by themselves for the Pandemonium-project. J & L have grown as quality producers, Jesse has evolved as a guitarist extraordinaire, Monte did much sidework for various artists and Jellybean has shown to be a versatile musician ... he's tight on the axxe as well, and he recently formed the band The Truth, including St. Paul Peterson and other Minneapolis cats. Jam, Lewis,and Jesse have all been successful with their own writing and production. Do they need Prince? No. Would Prince's involvement help? Sure, how could it not? I don't think anyone here does not acknowledge Prince's influence/impact on the Time. Yes i'm honest and uhm no, i've never read anywhere about that fact which happens to be your opinion. I remember visiting a concert by The Time in 1996, and when tracks from "Pandemonium" got played it was literally a pandemonium in the venue when the audience grooved like crazy to them cuts. Jam & Lewis have written some great tracks, and Prince hasnt written very good music lately (my opinion. *i have to add this part for the fams or else they soil their panties) So if it isn't very good, we cant blame Prince non involvement, because chances are if he had some involvement it would stink to high heaven. | |

Except for their work with Janet Jackson, Krush Groove soundtrack and Human League, I haven't been too impressed with Jam & Lewis production and sound, nor Jesse Johnson. They are like Prince that way - no matter who they produce, it ends up sounding like them, pt. 2.

And give his blessing Prince should. After all, there has always been some question as to just who was responsible for creating what, regarding the Minneapolis sound. Don't get me wrong, I abso-freaking-lutely love that sound, and I use elements of it in my compositions, but I also know that sound will not go over the same way it did in the 80s. Not saying that's bad, I just don't think it'll be like it was back in the day.

Yes without Prince, it won't be a true Time album like the first four, but in another sense, it will be the very first true album by the members of the Time. I think they can do a damn good album | |
