Deemessar

I just got in from tonight's show at BB Kings & I had a BLAST!!! I stayed for both shows and met the band backstage except Morris, who had his private dressing room sad.
They turned the place out, and that guitar player played his a$$ off! It was a great show. I have pix so maybe I'll post some this week.

I went to the 10:30 show. The guys played for around 75 minutes. The setlist (not in this order):

Get It Up
Cool
The Stick
Wild And Loose
777-9311
Gigolos Get Lonely Too
My Drawers
Jungle Love
If The Kid Can't Make You Come (instrumental)
The Bird
Jerk Out
Blondie
The Oak Tree
Fishnet

The band was tight as usual and the songs were shortened for the most part like always. Jerome brought a number of women on stage for "If The Kid Can't Make You Come" and people were invited on stage for "The Bird" finale. "Jungle Love" was the encore. Typical Time show.

I'd have to say that the setlist wasn't much different between the two shows, from sexton's list...the only oine they didn't do@ 8 was If the Kid Can't Make You Come. I had an incredible time.

Everybody was really into it-- and Jerome did the damn thing in the crowd. He is the hypeman of all hypemen.

Thanks and kudos to Ficktyt and his family, who offered me a ticket.

Waiting outside to be let in, some guys (obviously teenaged), walked up to us--
"What is this line for?"

Me and Ficktyt look at them and say "Morris Day and the Time"

"Oh." They say; And walk away.

I turn and say, "I betcha they have no idea who they are."

Was at the 8pm show, rockin' my Vanity 6 t-shirt under a black leather jacket. Thought maybe Jerome would notice when he walked by but he was too busy checking out the fine women smile

It was great, just waht you'd expect. I was impressed they did My Drawers actually. I WISH they had done Chocolate though. They never play that live even though they did it really well on SNL years ago.

I looked for a women in thigh high boots but I basically stayed at my tabe with 2 nice couples who didn't mind me bustin' in on them! smile

I was glad though I had a nice view of Monte's keyboard setup and I was able to watcdh what he was doing the whole time.

My "ad hoc" band had played the night before and I was toying with doing Jungle Love but I bagged on it.

I checked out the 8pm had a great time. That was my first time seeing The Time and I had no idea Jerome goes down in the crowd and literally works the whole room. I got a few closeup pics. It was a blast!!!!

Nice to meet you cinnamonjo!

Glad you enjoyed your first Time concert.

Hey, everyone, tickets go on sale later today for the concert on January 28 in Brooklyn, reserved seating this time so we don't have to spend all that money on overpriced food at B.B. King's just to get in early to get good seats while we are waiting!

Although the Brooklyn show likely won't be as intimate, I think it will be better because the stage will be bigger and give them more room to dance and move around. The sound system should also be much better.

It seemed Tori had amp problems for at least the first part of the concert.

Yea...I must say i was highly annoyed. Highly. When they did Barbie, it was really distorted by that amp...
mad

But other than that... yay!

It was awesome. I even met Tori outside after the show. He saw my guitar on my back and said that I'm gonna have to take over someday. I said "Yeah, I'm the next generation of FUNK!" lol

And I finally met sexton7. Cool guy. cool

But what annoyed me was the fact that the dance floor was still occupied with tables. It wasn't like that at all with the other B.B. King's shows I've been to. mad

Yeah they should add Chocolate into the set. i know they did it at those couple of shows after Pandemonium and a few of the late 95 early 96 shows, but has been gathering dust ever since
