Lisa is very awesome and I heard she likes the response to their album. Lets email her that she and Wendy should NOT wait 10 years for another album.
But in the meanwhile say thank you to Writers strike. Without that strike happening I dont think there would be an album.

Anyone know the e-mail adress so we can e-mail them on how awesome the album is.

For me, those two bonus tracks are already old, as one was included on Friendly Fire and the other one was released about a year back already.

I must admit I try to listen to the album without the bonus tracks.

I've never heard Friendly Fire. I've known Waiting for Coffee for awhile, but I never gave it much time until now.

It's an ALBUM. I haven't had an ALBUM since, well, since Hurricane, actually. It's been a few good months.

I downloaded it yesterday, and I am floored!!! I LOVE IT, right up my alley at the moment. Prince should be proud AND inspired, I know I am!

Damn this is incredible stuff.
Very, very, sublime. But in places, it rocks. It is also funky, prog-ish, and very Beatles-esque. It seems more of a Lisa album to me overall but Wendy's contributions are not to be denied.
As others have said, each new listen reaps new rewards.
BTW, I love the bonus tracks but I listen to the album as a 9 track release. Makes more sense to me. The Bonus tracks are more of a EP type thing. Great in it's own right. Congrats Ladies. cool

He is an experimental electronic artist that has interesting use of the piano with his melodies. His new album "Insides" is fantastic..

I noticed too that this is more of a Lisa album hehe and she have heavily input on this. I noticed Wendy have a lot of input on their earlier albums. I really like it and I would love to see Lisa do a solo album someday and she got Mad talented. She got the musicial skills and also the lovely and beautiful voice. That would be a dream come true for her to do her album heck I will take instrumental from her because I can tell she enjoyed doing the music more than writing lyrics and singing but that is my opinion. And also her having her own publishing company is a slow way for her to branch out her own more but still yes she will continue to have her partnership with Wendy in the tv/music industry.

The soundscapes on the album are very striking to me. It feels cold, and a sadness that waves in and out of the instruments and lyrics. I'm glad they chose to stick with this occurring theme throughout the album. It fits their style well. It's a very thought provoking set of songs for me. Lyrically they have never ever been this at this level, and musically they have polished a timeless album. Congrats to the girls, they have recorded something that will only get better with age. They can ask former band members on this, it seems to be a hard thing to do. I also applaud the less is more factor, and the attention to small details throughout the instrumentation. It's charming to hear such detail and hard work within each song... carefully crafted.

It took some time, but oh how it was worth it.

biggrin

I purchased this the day of release and have been digesting it over and over since then...

This is a really solid album from beginning to end. In fact, I think it may be at it's strongest when it's listened to as a whole from beginning to end. Much like many of my favorite new age or Celtic albums, I'm not so fussed with worrying about where one song ends and the next ones starts. As such, it's really hard to pick favorites right now though. If pressed, I'd have to go with:

-Sweet Suite (such a simple yet heart breaking little song, Beginning At The End, to start it off with and the reprise of Balloon in the middle feels like genius within the context of the album)
-Ever After (This seems like another sad song... referencing loved ones who've died?)
-Niagra Falls (What would a W&L album be without a water reference? lol Seriously, is it just me or does this "feel" like the most traditional W&L style song here?)
-Invisible (totally great break up song, imo... and Wendy delivers the lyrics so perfectly)

This is such a great album and the biggest crime is it's taken 10 years to get something new from them. If this digital delivery works out for them, I hope they take advantage of it more often - even just to drop the occasional song or two. I will wait... but you will have to wait tooooo".

Also, I feel like this album should have been 10 songs to allow both Wendy and Lisa to take equal lead on 5 songs each. I really enjoyed the first half of the album where they took lead on every other track but then it stalls with Wendy taking lead on 3 in a row.

Oh, and what's up with the lyric sheet? lol I normally follow along on them to understand the songs more clearly, not so I can correct it.

lol

Wendy and Lisa have said there won't be much advertising or a big push for airplay for this CD, but does anyone know just what promotion will take place? Any TV appearances, for example? I think a smart 2 or 3 appearances would be relatively cheap and do wonders.

I think that they made this album for the hardcore fans and ppl who just want a new W&L album. You know I feel grateful that they even made this possible because the only reason why the album came out was because they had a lot of time on their hands last year during the writers strike. If there going to be an actors strike dont expected them to do a follow up album right away because already they booked on doing scoring for two other tv gigs besides Heroes. I heard that Heroes wasnt doing too well this season and I am not sure if NBC wants to renew the show because the show cost a fortiune 2 make and already NBC is dealing with financial trouble but dont be dispair because Wendy and Lisa definately have a plate full with their scoring and that field is highly demand.

They are very busy with scoring and being moms too and I know it has to be hard to be a working mom to a toddler or infant. I may not understand it but I witneessed when my mother had my youngest brother at 38. I give them pros because at if I were their age I would be baby-sitting my grandchildren not raising them lol. But no offense to the other awesome middle aged moms out there doing their thing. cool But anyway they already busy doing other things. The fans already doing the job for them by promoting their album online.

But if any news of the girls might doing further promotion I am sure we will all know it.

I agreed with that I wished that they would release an album earlier but I think it is worth the wait after I heard the entire album I have been playing White Flags song to death I am suprised that not too many fans haven't mention that song as one of their favs like it has been mines.I hope Renata and Wendy and Lisa work together to add songs on their upcoming new and improved website so we can buy singles and bonus tracks and dont have to wait ten years but Lisa said on her twitter that she wasnt concern about fans exchanging songs or internet pirating so I can see the girls might offering free downloads so fans wont wait for soooo long for something new from them. Still I am going to buy the album because I wont feel cheated and it is worth buying and it my way of supporting creative artists that I digged the most.
