This thread is very interesting for lack of a better word. As someone looking on the outside of all these relationships I can honestly say that I never liked Mani from the beginning. I feel as if her relationship and marriage to Prince was strictly for her own gain. Call it opportunistic or just being a bitch-that was the vibe that I got from her. I always felt like Mayte' was and still is the victim in all this. She endured such pain-the lose of a child in such a terrible way as did Prince. My heart has always went out to her. I'm glad that someone mentioned the child situation. I always felt like it has been the reason why P never had kids-genetically the problem is with him. Lord knows he deserves to be happy, but that is a terrible cross to bear.

As for Eric, his singing has always been wonderful even before marrying Halle. I really think he got a bad wrap with that whole situation. I wouldn't wish Mani's opportunistic ass on anyone. Heffa! Hopefully P has learned from such a terrible mistake and can find a way to deal with all of this within hisself. I wish him the best. By the way this is the best thread I've ever read here on the org and everyone has kept it civil

He want another pretty girl on his arm to boost his ego, he has his own reasons for marrying her not out of love surely. I read a post and it said it all. There were never any pic of him showing her any real affection of her showin him. He didn't look happy either. He just wanted to clean up his image and make himself look better. But marrying the woman that you had a affair with not good.ewather or not the affair was more emotional. But he can't stay with one woman, he just looks for reasons to kick them to the curb

Mayte was a young kid, and when she matured, and began to grow into herself... she was no longer the weak cub, she grew into a lioness, and Prince can't handle lionesses.
Probably the same thing happened with Mani.

the difference is, that Mayte lost a child. That is so huge to me. When she is 90 years old and divorced 4 husbands... she still loss her baby. That will stay with her. You will be surprised how old people will go senile and still cry and grieve over that loss baby.. even when they went on to have 10 kids and 50 grands.

That Mayte got dumped during that darkest time and had to watch her husband go off with a new fresh and wonderful love... and have their friends (and I bet most of "her" friends were really "his" friends/employees or girlfriends/wives of his friends/employees) drop her as well when Prince moved on.

Yet, she doesn't talk bad about him... no hard feelings.

and for those of you who talk about gold diggers... SO WHAT? He deserves it!!

Mayte especially, but yes even Mani... you get the pleasure of totally possessing these young naive pretty girls, and when they grow into thinking women, (and not so young anymore) you think you can just slap five and say, "see you on the back side???" Hell no! pay up... it is the least you can do.

I read that interview. Mani was claiming that because Eric is a good father, that makes him a good boyfriend. Please, honey. My philosophy is once a cheater always a cheater. Considering Mani's career background I would assume that she likes to be in charge and likes to have debates in conversations. Prince and Mani never had a chance cause he likes to be in control. Maybe she questioned his decisions and tried to tell him what to do.....Makes me wonder if they split because they had too many verbal conflicts? I bet Eric is loving Mani's strong personality compared to fragile Halle's insecure and emotional issues from her past.
