I am so excited for the younglings that never got to see this band do it LIVE !! There are so many things I wanna say....but this goes out to the fellas themselves.. Enjoy the moment.. Soak it up..Enjoy being THE TIME again and know how special this is to ALL OF US... Blessings my friends.. Jedi Too bad Rihanna's going to ruin it(like Beyonce ruined Prince's set) - who the f-ck wants to hear that stupid Umbrella song? I hope Morris & Jerome re-enact the dumpster scene from Purple Rain. Get her no-talent ass off the stage. Usually I will hear a song and not like it...then after hearing it 5000 times on the radio, you are brainwashed into thinking you liked it all along. Well, I've heard Umbrella 5000 times, and I STILL hate it. It's got to be the dumbest song ever besides Ay Bay Bay. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

The Time cant perform anything but the same 10 songs they have always performed since 1982.

The Time cant perform anything but the same 10 songs they have always performed since 1982. Yet those 10 songs are worth 50 of Rihanna's. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

Cameo's style fits her song much better than The Time's..
The Time are pure R&B funk: Hard bass chops and thumps, heavy, squealing guitars, and straight-ahead funk-synths..James Brown change-ups.. Cameo is sort of a wilder, wierder almost punk-ish style---that fits more of what Rhianna was trying to bring back..a bit. She looks like some of the women in their videos. I could imagine her joining Cameo for some of their songs than The Time's. What are Morris and Jerome going to do? Dance with Umbrellas? Mix this song with "The Bird"? I know that Jam has a high-role in the voting of The Grammy's..Maybe, that is why they are doing this.. [Edited 2/6/08 14:41pm]

'Kay...
I hollered like a moron when I realized what was happening. I was happy to see Jimmy Jam, even more to see Jerome and Morris...lost my voice during their performance...but...stopped once Miss Thing came out and destroyed the moment. My boyfriend and I both said at the same time "what is SHE doing there?" (and he hardly even knows who The Time is.) It just wasn't funky with her in it. I mean, it WAS until she skipped down the stairs and integrated her annoying song into one of my favorite jams as a child. The Time--as funky and as exciting as ever Rhianna-Mmmm....not so effin' much. I was hoping an Ice Cream Castle was gonna fall on her.

At first, I was jumping up and down. Looked like it was going to be fantastic. Then, when Rihanna came out and tried to hide them all with the stupid umbrellas, I just got so angry I was cursing. I couldn't even see Jesse. I kept trying to look around her puffy dress to see them. She took up all the time and the space.
After the show, I was even more disappointed. It seemed as if, in every other performance where all the newer stars were paired with the "classic" stars, like Beyonce and Tina, the newer stars gave the legends plenty of space. Well, except when Beyonce tried to trip Tina.... ...but NOOOOO, not Rihanna. She had to block out the stars. That was a joke. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

Sad, but I guess that's how it goes. [Edited 2/13/08 1:21am]

I had to watch this again to really take it in, and before I made a rash comment.
After watching it again, The Time were great, but they were totally hidden and the stage was too dark. They only showed Monte for a split second. And where was Terry? Jellybean was just about visible. Jimmy Jam, Morris and Jerome were the stars here, which is a shame really, because this BAND is what it's all about. My fav thing about this is Morris's interview backstage. That was too funny. But for me, I was glad to see them together, but Rhianna was a bad match for them. I'm totally sick of her, Beyonce + camp (and her frantic performance with those granny drawers), and Jay-Z - dude, you are not funny. I'm bored with all of them. Bored, Bored, Bored. Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.

BlaqueKnight said: blackguitaristz said: That's what I'm saying. That along with Terry and Jimmy are the only reasons I think this is cool. Who stated that "Oak Tree" was confirmed as the song they will do? That doesn't make a lick of sense because that is not a Time cut. That's a solo Morris cut. And I hope they don't play The Bird/Jungle Love medley either. If they really want to turn it out, they'll play 777-9311 or Get It Up or even Wild & Loose. I'm just glad that I've seen the "real" Time two times in my life. Twice opening up for P. Once on the Controversy tour and once on the 1999 tour. They were bangin'. Waaaay better than these imposters that's been masquerading on stage with Morris as The Time. What a disgrace. OUCH! Tori, Freeze and Chance H. have to eat, too bruh. Come on, now. Somebody had to sub in order for the rest of those cats to keep eating off the same songs for 25 years. For the record, I'm glad the "old cast" are getting back together for one last romp. Its a shame they'll have to do it with that five-head, screeching banshee in tow. She should be bannd from microphones in the U.S. You took the words right out of my mouth. Neththeless, I was still glad to see my fellas doing their damn thing.
